I've been waiting months for my dealer to contact me "within 48 hours"....LMAO! I figure the lines must still be down from that storm that they never got, or they were cut by ISIS terrorists....

I can't recall who installed the Magnaflow and said it somewhat helped. Is the prevailing theory is that its exhaust resonance?

I have a magnaflow. It reduced the vibes to a tolerable level, to the point where I don't care about them anymore. But if I focus on it I do still feel them just not as intense as it used to be.

Whopper put on the Flomaster American Thunder Cat Back last month and says the buzzing vibration was gone.
He didn't install it hoping for a cure, just wanted a better sound .

I can't say exhaust resonance is the prevailing theory , that is what my dealers service manager told me.
He suggested a CAI and a Cat Back.

Whopper is the only one I've seen on this forum who seems to have eliminated it ,, so that is how I'm leaning at this point.

Gotcha - where were your vibes coming from? Mine are buzzing both in the steering wheel and gas pedal anytime I'm in the 1500-2500 rpm range. Its really bad on mine and its just a daily reminder of how disappointed I am with my first Toyota purchase. Im on business travel frequently and even the POS ragged-out economy rental cars don't have feedback in the pedal and steering wheel like my brand new Tacoma. Its seriously a joke that they manufactured this into the truck.

Also, if you had to rank on a scale from 1-10 your vibes before and now, what would you say it would be?

Yeah I do recall him installing it but I believe its a dual exhaust setup which may be the primary difference between stock or the Magnaflow.

I'm surprised that more people aren't speaking about this. I've monitored this thread since I've bought mine last December and I've notice theres usually several "guests" to Tacoma World reading this thread. So I know theres just people here who havent spoken up about it. For those who havent called Customer Care yet...please do!

Vibes are in the steering wheel and gas pedal between 1800-2100 rpm. I'd say my vibes used to be an 8 and are now a 4. The exhaust sounds awesome and I look forward to getting in my truck and driving it everyday. Think I'll go do that right now.

    I hear you.
It's certainly a surprise to me that more customers aren't registering complaints.

;) Really you're surprised? Take a look around the forum. If you voice your criticism or complaint about the Tacoma you're likely to end up with a :bucket: over your head from a dirty dozen of brand loyalists and fanboys who lurk here (some don't even have a 3rd gen) they're just going to defend Toyota to the grave. I'd be willing to bet my annual salary some of these same overly defensive knuckleheads are so damn stubborn about their loyalty that they're aware of some of the same issues on their own truck but wouldn't fess up to it even if you had a gun to their heads.

Then there's the other faction (most owners probably) who never step foot inside a forum like this, and live in ignorance of the problem or just choose to deal with it.

You're absolutely right though. If even 30% of all Tacoma drivers complained and raised hell about something as small as "no passenger side floor clips", you can bet Toyota would be all over it. They know that is a significant number that could impact their bottom line once better competition hits the market in the mid-sized truck category.

And yea if you can't tell, I have a fundamental problem with "settling" for subpar B.S. on a brand new vehicle from an "esteemed" brand like Toyota. This is why we paid the inflated price for a pick up truck. $40K and "it's normal, live with it"....that dog doesn't hunt for me brother. That dog doesn't hunt!

Just took a long road trip and the vibrations make my arm feel like it is going numb! I don't really notice around town, but prolonged cruising in that RPM range noticeable for sure. Control arms have been fixed. Transmission has been fixed. I hope this is next!

It would be interesting to find out whether the Pro also has buzz considering it comes with a different cat-back exhaust.

New truck and we are supposed to pay for new exhaust system to fix a problem ? Really? Just when I get to liking mine I drive in that rpm range and am disgusted.

I totally agree that is complete and utter BS I am not going to buy a new exhaust system for my brand new $40,000 truck Toyota needs to step up and fix it.
