That shit looks strange because it's empty. I know people hate on DB lifts, but a 12" lift on a 2WD is poser on top of poser.

 

Now I notice the lack of a front diff. But what is the difference between a poser 2wd and a 4wd that never goes off-road ? Same difference to me.

 

Are you talking to me or in general? I've battle the DB lift on this forum and get nothing but shit. But a prerunner with an 8+" lift gets more respect then a 4WD with a DB lift. But it's true, if you use it then ok...but if your into wheeling then get a 4WD right? But isn't there a limit. If I want to have a race car, you build a car and swap it or whatever, You don't buy a civic and put a fart can on it and call it fast. I'm going back to MT now anyway,I'm giving up on the DB.

 

Easy bro. I am not giving you shit. I for one say it's your truck, your money, so do what you want to it and enjoy. Was just saying that I am as likely to give a lifted prerunner guy shit as I am to a 4wd pavement princess. Which truthfully I would not give either one any shit at all.

Yes you can. And you can wheel hard with a prerunner. I just hate the people that trash talk the DB lifts on this site, especially if they have never had one. I've given up on trying to argue it. Some dudes just want the look, nothing wrong with it. It's your money so spend it how you want. I just have to comment though when I see a prerunner with a 12" lift, but to each there own.

 

I have to agree. A Prerunner on 8+" of lift is an odd concept to me.

 

I wheel, I also have a DB. It can be done. Ask me how!

 

I won't get into this shitstorm debate ever again (been on TW wayyyyy too fuckin long to know it's a shitshow waste of time) but like I've always said.....I'm a pretty badass driver, that's HALF THE BATTLE! The vehicle is just part of the equation, I've driven some stock rigs thru some mean shit and driving smart got me out of alot of situations.

^ Correct, it is more the driver than the rig. I've had my 2 wheel drive trucks make it through things that some inexperienced 4x4's couldn't go with the loose nut behind the wheel

 

Any idea what size and thickness square tubing people are using in place of the OEM crossmember? When I measure, it comes out to around 5" by 3" but I've seen all kinds of sizes on different builds.

 

So I may or may have not "tweaked" my factory UCA's.

What is everyone running on the DB 6in lifts?

So from what I can see, since the DB lift drops your factory suspension down and keeps the factory geometry, I shouldn't need some crazy expensive super extended travel set. Just something that gives me some additional adjustments for camber & toe. What are your thoughts?

and yes I've read through the post on here discussing UCA's on here, but I don't think this has been directly referenced.

 

I have had Light Racing for almost 2 years now with a caster of 3.6°. They are cheaper and also get hated on this site occasionally but they have been great so far for me. From an offroad stand point all i do is during hunting season, mostly deer. So light trails. Seems like everyone else has uniballs though.

 

Yeah, I've heard good and bad things about LR's UCA's. The whole ball joint vs uni-ball discussion is I think more based on what you need your rig to do. The noise with the uni-balls is not an issue for me as my truck already squeaks, what's a few more

I am actually leaning towards the ball joint for the ease of replacement and of maintenance.

 

The shop I part time at is a Total Chaos vendor. Id be happy to help you look at those options. Labor day is approaching as well.

Basically, i dont think you need the heimed like I have and had on my DB lift. I never needed that much extra alignment. The TC tubular arms will be just fine. Great product and easy to install.

 

can i please have every spec you can think of from the silver truck, that literally is my dream setup man!

 

He hasnt been on in over a year. But one silver truck in those pics looks like a procomp stage 2 with Icon Billet uppers.
