I ordered almost the same thing DCSB OR w/ manual transmission in quicksand! I hope to get a similar deal or possibly better. Ordered 5/30/16 to try and get an early allocation in, but apparently that did nothing as the dealership recently placed the order in late June and I'm looking at late Sept for delivery.

Larry H. Miller in Colorado Springs off 25. I feel like I could have pressed them to take more off the price but whatever. In the end I got $650 off MSRP, and they're paying for half the cost of the bed extender and clear bra paint protector.

They're trying to dick me around on trade in value so I'm trying to move that myself before I buy the truck. Should be in by early September. I've got a broken leg, and driving my current manual would be incredibly difficult so it doesn't really matter if the wife and I are down to one vehicle for a bit.

The first offer they gave me was a slap in the face man. They upped it by $1500, and it is still $2000 under what NADA and Kelly Blue Book say should be the lowest I should accept.

Not sure if you were in the process of trading your truck in, but KBB has an instant cash offer they do with participating local dealers.

I had mine posted here and cars.com for sale ended up selling it to a dealership using this program. They bought it for $3500 more then what the dealership offered me where I have my truck ordered. Was on the lower side of full value, but super easy and incredibly hassle free.

This piqued my curiosity since I got a low ball trade offer earlier today from the dealer I am considering getting my 2017 Tacoma. I had never even heard of this program and I have been on KBB's site a lot lately. I just never noticed it on their site. I just filled everything out online waiting to hear back from the dealers. Glad you posted this because i was just figuring out what route I was going to go with selling my truck.

So I finally got the truck I wanted (2017 TRD OR DCLB PT w/ JBL MGM) allocated by the dealer and it should be built on September 3. The salesman sent me a build sheet which listed the MSRP for the truck. When I talked to the salesman on the phone, I asked is that the price I have to pay for the truck and he said yes but quickly jumped to say that these truck are popular and that there's basically a line of people waiting. I'm just wondering how should I go about negotiating the price? I mean I figure it would be difficult to negotiate because I'm ordering a hard to find truck. How have you guys negotiated the price? I'm in California, just for reference.

Good luck man! It really was a good option for me. Don't have to worry about showing the vehicle to potential suitors, or pay the ridiculous taxes for the sale.

Tell him you aren't paying anything above a certain price. They have plenty of wiggle room man. Everything has mark up that is added onto the vehicle. Don't be afraid to walk out. The truck you want isn't that hard to come by. There will be more.

I ordered a 2017 TRD OR DCLB PT w/ JBL, Tow, carpet floor mats. Paid invoice only. AZ.
Trust me, these guys make money. Get things in writing (email), and play dealerships against each other. Took me less than 3 days to get the pricing I wanted. Total time spent in the dealership: 3 minutes to put a deposit down.

Price detail: 2017 Tacoma DCLB TRD Offroad 4X4 AT, Tech w/ JBL, Tow, carpet floor-mats, Inferno = $37,747 (excluding ~$2,900 sales tax, ~$600 registration, and $429 doc fee). Should be here in a few weeks.

I have heard from a few here on the forum that its tough in certain parts of California to get a good deal but I would not pay full MSRP. A dealer here in Nashville wouldn't budge more than $500 off MSRP. I currently have an offer for 3k under MSRP for a 2017 Limited 4x4 DCSB but its a 12 hour roundtrip drive to Ohio and I would have to sell my truck myself since the trade offer was IMO really low. Maybe create a new thread asking for suggestions from California members on where they bought theirs? They are high demand trucks but the flip side of that is there are always dealers willing to sell a truck quick.

My suggestion would be look out of state. My understanding from several people on here from CA is that it is impossible to get a good deal in CA. I just ordered a 2017 with the exact same options you have and I got a 3700.00 discount off MSRP and when it comes in I plan on seeking additional discounts. After you add taxes the OTD cost will be a hair over 40,000.00. My advice to you again is to venture outside the CA market. Good luck

My result was being offered less by KBB instant cash by about $ 1500.

Quicksand DCSB Off Road (Tow Package & Mats)
    Invoice: $34,998.66
    MSRP: $36,555.00
    Paid: $35,889.00 (sans taxes)
    Got a 1.7% rate.

I think I could of done better, but this dealer had the only quicksand 17' in the area and I'm leaving on a fairly long road trip shortly.
Still having heart palpitations on spending that much on a midsize truck...

Suggestions. I bought mine at the end of the month, and end of the quarter. If they need to meet quarter sales, walk in, give them 500 on invoice with your phone#. Allow them to give you a bogus counter offer. Walk out. Wait till they call you back and you should expect something close to what you've offered. If they don't. Storm out pissed and go to the next dealer.

    Its all a psychological game.

I think I realize now why I actually have had the same Ford Ranger truck for the last 10 years..... it's because the entire car buying process blows donkey balls.

I forgot how much I hated it.

    Damn, that really sucks.

    My truck for reference...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/sold-fs-2008-trd-or-access-cab-prerunner.444979/

Dealership offered me $7500 for my truck and I laughed. Came back with $9k as the highest they could offer. Was trying to sell for $15k, and found the KBB deal while posting to autotrader. Ended up getting $12500. High end for trade-in for my truck was $13100 so I'm definitely happy.

    Hey guys,

New member, long time lurker. Currently looking to buy a 2017 SR 4X4 DCSB V6 AT (7594) with SR Convenience Package and Tow Package only. Currently considering the following:

    $32,013.00 - MSRP
    $ 1,309.74 - Internet Fleet Discount
    -------------
    $30,703.26 - Sales Price
    428.75 - Doc Fee
    499.55 - Lieu Tax (Registration)
    13.75 - Title & Plate
    5.00 - Tire Tax
2,471.61 - City, County & State Sales Tax
    -------------
    $34,121.92 - Total Out-the-Door Price

This will be a cash purchase, and I am not trading a vehicle. From what I have seen, they are giving me about $1000 over invoice and charging a high doc fee. What do you guys think about this? This is in the greater Phoenix area so I do have access to quite a few Toyota dealers out here.
