I may look into getting the solar panel then. Idk yet but nah no 35s for me, 285s for now until I get an actual DD then I'll go from there.

    And 285s are 33s :p

So you're telling me that you're going to skip LEG DAY on your truck? For shame!

damn.. I knew I should have.. I wanted ease of access tho too.. ehh.. I'll wait and see if it affects anything.. then switch it if needed.

I've been searching for solar panels.. specifically ones that will fit on the Plano case.. I've found a couple that are close and may work. Solar panel to charge secondary and primary batteries and have all my accessories run off the secondary.

This is the reason I want a roof rack, specifically a Prinsu Design one. Unfortunately they don't make one of the first gen double cabs because the structural integrity of the roof and the lack of factory mounting points. As much as I wish I could just throw money at them, I can't do that right now since I wouldn't be able to afford everything as well as I need some money to repair the truck, if needed.

Was one of the reasons for me as well.. that and to get my "toolbox" out of the bed.

I hear ya.. ya know.. they make the solar skins that you can stick and form to surfaces.. or even the ones that use suctions cups, etc. just mount your panels on the roof and that's it.

I'll probably hold off until I get money to throw at Prinsu Design ... or a 2015 DCSB Tacoma :spy: ... My dad and I both use a portable solar panel that just trickle charges the battery you connect it to. Worked fine for now, which is all I need.

I honestly don't even know what the brand or model is :anonymous: He bought it forever ago to keep the battery charged in his F250 when he wasn't driving it.

I don't have the money yet! :annoyed:

285s are about perfect for these

I have my awning coming off the driver side so that's one reason my case is on the other. My tent opens driver to so I wanted he awning same side

ahh no worries. I'll look around. might go with the quick easy route like that for now. liking the idea. its at least something.

got ya! see.. thats part of my dilemma too. I open Passenger. I was going to put an awning on either side really.. but then that depends where I put the Plano.. so since I have the Plano on the drivers side currently, it works out and I can put an awning on the passenger side, same side the tent opens. OR.. i flip the plano to the other side, help with lean.. and get an awning on the driver side for extra shade/cover on that side. idk.. :/

my radiator support and body mount bushings are toast too tho.. so those are definitely contributing to my lean.. I need to replace those first and go from there I think.

Meh I'd go with the awning on the passenger then. Since the RTT opens passenger so you have both on the same side in case it rains etc etc

Thoughts on a shell and getting the Prinsu rack on it and throwing the RTT on it?

Can a fiberglass shell hold all that weight? What would you do about the holes from the prinsu on your cab?....or am I not understanding your idea?

I know some guys have done that, haha no I'd be getting his TopRac and keeping my CabRac on the front, so I'd have one on the truck then the other rack on the shell.

Yessss!!!! Shells are awesome, especially with our tiny cabs. Dry storage for so much stuff.
