Disgusting to see this happen to someone. Glad you got it worked out finally. Toyota should be lucky you're still a customer.

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
My question is, Why wouldn't you look before buying?

lol. This truck reminds me of my own. My taco has rust all over it. But I knew this when I bought it and I bought it used at a pretty good deal.

Sucks how you got screwed out of your time and money, though.

Honestly, would you have seen this coming? Living in Virginia, a new hurricane damaged truck is the last thing people would expect. If you're saying this situation was my own doing, I completely disagree. Live and learn I guess...I'll be anal about vehicles from now on.

Toyota Motor Sales' customer service is outstanding, they move quickly, and they follow up. However, I'm not impressed with their policies. They distanced themselves from the dealer at the beginning and I didn't start to get results from them until I talked to a case manager. Everyone prior to that was sympathetic with my claim, but kept reiterating that the dealerships are independent businesses and TMS does not involve themselves in sales matters. Their brand name was on the line.

I mentioned this in the other thread...when I tell this story to someone else, with all the details, the main point they probably walk away with is "That guy bought a hurricane damaged Toyota"

You're right. Live and learn. Unfortunately, not a lesson any of us would want. As someone said earlier you kept your composure during some of the most difficult times.
It definitely separates you from among some us because you stood your ground when they were sure you'd fold. They threw all sorts of obstacles in your way and you persisted. I'm sure it will be of value in the future. Persistence pays.

This vehicle was reported on 02/01/10 as sent to auction for sale.

Updated original post. I can still pull up service records on this truck on MyToyota.com While I still have access, I took screen captures of all prior records and posted them. The text is small on my computer but I run hi res screen settings. Let me know if they're too small and I can shrink them less when I repost.

What ever happened to good business ethics. That truck should have been totalled or sold under a salvage title from the get go. I am saddened that the economy is in such a shambles that good people are getting screwed by stealerships that are trying to make a quick buck. My $.02 On the other hand great choice on a new Taco!

I always had my suspicions that that Koons lady was a little shady. Ever
notice that she lip syncs one of her car commercials?
