Mississippi. It meets criteria for both of those things. New Orleans is a rival for that title as well.

Ok, to truly get Hillbilly you have to have hills or mountains.
    Ghetto is self explanatory.

With these two I would def have to say NC. You have Western NC for hillbilly and you have Charlotte/Raleigh/Winston-Salem/Spartanburg for Ghettos.

I won't argue the mountain/hillbilly part but I live not far away from Raleigh and I've been to Detroit... there is no comparison for ghetto - Detroit winds hands down.

No doubt. But for BOTH I say NC. Now if we are going for one or the other then absolutely Detroit.

For both in the same state? I'd have to go with Georgia... Atlanta has some near-slums hanging around and the hillbilly quotient is high outside the metro areas.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
hillbillies...anywhere in appalacia. (WV, southern OH, Kentucky, parts of TN and the Caraolina's.

Ghetto? from what i've seen on TV...Flint MI, Palm Beach FL, and Nawlins LA. Cinncinnati has the worst that i've personally been to.

Q: How many Americans does it take to screw in a light bulb? (Choose ONE);)
A: Two. One to replace it and one to tell him it was burned out (in states that still have car-inspection laws.)
A: Three. One to stand on the ladder, and two to carry enough light bulbs until one is found that isn't defective.
A: Five. One to screw it in and four to write the environmental impact statement.
A: One to do it and the other 156 to blabber to the world how they've done something better then Canadians (for once).
A: 250,000,000, one to change it and 249,999,999 to debate whether it was politically correct.

I'll vouch for that. My best friend lives in West Charlotte. There are 2 local gas stations, we refer to them as the Stab & Go, and the The Murder Mart. Trust me, dat shit's ghetto.
