Jesus Christ those taxes are awesome. I'm paying over $2k here in Colorado. One thing I do miss about Texas.

That is likely tax on the difference between the trade in value and new car value... Which looks to be around $8k. I don't know if all states do this. I know that tn does for sure. Trade in a $30k car and buy a $35k car and you only pay tax on $5k.

Wasnt there some Ohio dealer on here that would give killer deals on Tacomas and would either ship them or let you come pick them up? Dunno what Ohio does for taxes, but that info could easily be found...I just can't find the post from that dealer to see who to talk to.

I essentially worked the same deal as mrtrickdk in Post#49.
2017 Tacoma DCLB TRD-OR 4x4, Premium Tech w/ JBL, Towing Package, Quicksand (7568, FP, TO, 4v6): $37,750 (plus $2,672 TTL + Fees) in East TX. On order and expect delivery ~late September, waiting on an exact delivery date & VIN#.
FWIW I emailed ~12 dealerships and most of them want to completely ignore what you've requested and simply point to what's in their current inventory :annoyed:. A few of them would acknowledge the request and send a quote of MSRP + TTL +Fees, to which I would simply reply with a fair OTD # that I was willing to pay and NO MORE; then I would get the 'rare truck hard to find you've gotta pay MSRP to get that' crap from them; which would be followed up by the sales manager/GM spamming you constantly asking if the dealership did everything they could to help and ask you to boost their customer service rating by filling out a survey . I was able to find a dealership that started off the conversation with 'we sell for invoice' and actually looked for vehicles that were as similar as possible to the request!!! Put down a deposit and waiting for delivery and the rest is history... :)

    None needed.
The dealers in Ohio you are referring to is "Toyota West" in Columbus and "Kings" Toyota near Cincinnati. I used a quote from Kings to get a great deal on my DCORLB last November from Toyota "Direct" in Columbus. There have been people on Tacoma World who live in California and come to buy from Toyota West and Kings. They have great upfront pricing and are willing to deal, even on the hard to find models like the 7568. The taxes in Columbus are 7.5% and are paid on the difference between your trade in and final price. Out of state buyers should expect to pay their local tax rate using the same formula.
P.S. I am, in no way, affiliated with Toyota or any other car manufacture or dealer; I just love to see people get the most for their money.

That's a great price! I'm curious though, where did you get your MSRP? Just a dcsb or with premium and tow has an MSRP of 39k. Did you have a trade? Is it 2wd?

FYI - I live in BC, and the income tax structure is such that everyone pays the same income tax rates in the lower tax rates and the higher income tax brackets only kick in on money you make over that amount. We have socialized health care and many other government programs to support our people. Who gives a crap if the high income earners want to leave (another argument for trickle down economics, which does not work, I see)? There will always be someone else to replace them. In a socialized system by taxing high income earners more you're basically saying that - great, you make more money, but you're not "THAT" much more valuable than the average joe and why do we need people to be multi millionaires and billionaires? They just ship it offshore apparently? And these taxes pay for our great roads for all the new Tacoma's to drive on. The Schools that you use your new Tacoma to drive your kids to. The police system and laws that protect our country for corporations to do business in. Taxes ain't that bad. Sure there's waste, but nothing compared to the great health care system you guys have in the US and A (cough).

Entune premium is standard on TRD models. If you see someone say premium audio, but not "premium and technology", then they do not have the $2800 p&t package.

Great health care system in the US. I like to know where you got that from. The health care system in the US is ripe with fraud, waste, and abuse. I never could understand why the hospital would charge 150.00 for two Tylenol pills As for your other comment about who cares if high earners leave. You better care if they leave because the unproductive and free loader folks cant foot the bills It is funny you would say taxes ain't that bad. I guess not if you are one of the ones who pay little or no taxes at all but at the same time you reap the benifits of a socialize system.

Gotcha. I had assumed "premium" meant the package.

Yeah it's confusing. Just look to see if they have a sunroof. On the off roads, look to see if the bumper has chrome or color matched pieces. Chrome is standard and color matched is p&t.

Right, with a picture of the truck it's reasonably easy to figure the packaging. It's the vague descriptions of packages that can be confusing.

I got pricing from dean. they are doing $2500 under msrp on all non-tech package tacomas. any idea how well they do for trade-in values? or how do they even handle that for out-of-state buyers? it would suck to get an amazing price and drive 350 miles each way, only to get shafted on trade.

I hate to quote myself, but I got a trade quote from him. He has good prices if you are just buying, but you won't get as much on a trade. He's $2k below local dealers on trade prices. It's really about even to just buy locally and not have to make a 700 mile round trip.
