Welded on my resi mounts finally. I bent the tabs a little to suck it in to the frame a little more and to have more surface to weld to. I made it so the hose clears full in all travel and of course the logo out.

Probably a stupid question, but I'm running fox 2.5 coilovers, set to about 3" of lift. So have about 1-3/4" of threads showing on the coilovers. Question is, will a sway bar make your ride more rough at all? Or is it the preload I have them at, what's making a rough ride?

Sway bar doesn't affect how stiff the ride is.

Ok, so then it's the preload I have on the coilovers? Turning into my drive way at a angle was pretty rough... It's rough on any big bump so must be the preload?

Yeah preload is probably most of it. What pound coils do you have on them?

Right on. Well I'll be adjusting them soon then! Anyone know a good amount of preload that gives you some height but a smoother ride?

Yeah, bring the front end down a bit and it'll help. If you want to try taking the sway bar off and see how it feels, its only 4 bolts I believe. Takes about 5ish minutes, can easily put it back on if you don't like it.

    Pro's:
    Completely independant front suspension
    Makes driving more fun

    Con's:
Some people feel its too tippy around corners and doesn't feel safe. Don't drive it like a rally truck and you'll love it!

I continually disagree with this and proved it again to myself yesterday. We ran with sway bar on for 3 hours to a TH. Then headed out for an hour down the trail. Wife was driving and something started clanking. I had her pull over and front sway bar was loose. I pulled the endlinks and we were off. Suddenly she was race car driver..aand asking did I hit that right this is fun!!

When running normal forest roads the trucks suspension conforms to the terrain so much better and transfer less body shifting to the occupants. It easily allows me to travel faster and allows be shocks to do what they need to with out being pushed from the other side. I also took off my superbumps in the front to allow the ADS to do their thing. It rides best with no sway bar and no superbumps for me. Kinda seams silly to expect a $60 piece of rubber dampen my expensive coilovers. As for the sway bar with 2.5 shocks that seams ridiculous also.

If I'm running a sway bar I like all the bushings intact and not stretched out from wheeling it. Not sure I'm even mid travel but the next one will be..back under my rock I go.

Guess I'm gonna have to take it off and find out. Sounds like it could be a couple of things

Well yes it allows the suspension to conform to the ground, taking the sway bar out makes it true independent suspension. I guess I was explaining it more technically in that the sway bar doesn't directly affect ride quality, like preload does. I never had my sway bar in with a high performance coil over so I didn't know if it made that much of a difference.

And you definitely want bump stops in there... So you don't bottom out the shock

    Yes
Sway bar definitely makes the ride harsher due to exactly what you just said - the front suspension can't move independently.

Can anyone help me out with a part number for the lower spherical bearing on a King 2.5 coilover? I've been trying to find one and am failing miserably. Thanks
