Does this only happen in the summer? When the AC kicks on and you're stopped at a light, it will feel like you get a light bump in the rear. Totally normal.

It has probably happened mostly when you had the AC on. After a while you sort of get used to it and might feel it even when the AC isn't on. (sort of like how we all used to get phantom vibrations in our phone pockets)

I think you're fine. Don't worry about the carrier bearing.

Correct me if im wrong but i was told it was the Leaf springs binding up and release after stop, happens to me from time to time. My recall leaf spring came in so August 25th they will be replaced and hopefully that wont happen anymore if it does then its something else.

If its the AC, which is very common, it will happen while you are just sitting there stopped. All of a sudden youll feel a 'bump'. The AC clutch engages which in turn increases engine rpm. If its the slip yoke or leaf springs, it will likely occur when starting to let off the brakes and pressure is released off the slip yoke or springs. This is also quite common. I have the AC 'bump' all the time. I use to have the slip yoke bind on my last tacoma.

My 2006 TRD Sport has done that since new.Now I've gotten so used to it I don't pay it any attention to it.I've kinda thought it was the A/C also like the compressor turning on and off.

OP, have you been able to get this figured out? My 07 is doing something similar. Really rough stops and sometimes starts. And sometimes while sitting at a full stop it'll bump forward.
