Yea, that's why I posted the thread. Too many assholes around here and I don't swing that way...

    And they're "reporting" me. LOL

I just ignored 5 people. This thread is going to be really helpful for that. We'll see how that goes.

Not trolling for sure. I love the camping thread, and some of the build threads are just amazing for sure. Search has come up with some great mods and answers to questions I've had.

But the constant bitching is too much of a drone...

    That's scary.

But ignore really works! People have disappeared! Wow! This place may be ok. :)

There are a few, but once you go through the few threads available and so little info on each forum, you'll be back to TW, and so thankful that TW exists in its current format. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/164-tacoma-forum

Not Tacoma-specific, but expeditionportal.com and ih8mud.com are both great. Less people, not as active, but tons of awesome information and worthwhile discussion.

Nope, the problem lies with distorted baseband. Not even 4285 will help with that! I find that ECCM works well on occasion. I have never seen an ignore option on a 5710 modem though.

Yup I feel your pain OP.
One guy alone here has over 4700 postings in less than a year all about him bashing the new '16 Taco and Toyota, just because he has a problem that we didn't create for him, but he just keeps on playing the same old song as if anyone here can do anything about it.
The good news is someday he and a few of his pardners will eventually get tired and move on, and the forum can continue to be as informative as it has been in the past.

That may not help much now, but cheers to the future!

So...why not start a thread to hunt down the source(s) of identified problems and come up with a plan to get them resolved. This is the approach I've seen on other forums...as well as members working together to R&D aftermarket parts. Blindly defending Toyota's shortcomings and/or bashing those who acknowledge them doesn't accomplish much at the end of the day.

I think the fact that the Tacoma is an entry level truck may play a role in the caliber of forum members. Not a bad thing, just a possible explanation.

I used to feel the same way about that "One guy" but when I had a problem, guess who was the first one with a helpful suggestion? Yep, it was that "One guy"...I've learned to skip rants and enjoy some of the banter...life is much nicer now.

He gave you a helpful suggestion how to solve your problem and yet he still has all of his??
That makes no sense at all.
All you have to do is read your warranty guide and it tells you how to proceed to resolve them, but there’s no need to keep telling everyone at every thread how lousy the truck is and how bad Toyota is at fixing them because I and millions of owners know it to be different because if there was any truth in what he says he never would have bought his truck in the first place.

Furthermore, the guy makes his own problems.
Take the transmission he bitches so much about. He went and got the ATF lvl checked a couple times and one of those times they added fluid. Well now that he got the TSB, he still has problems, probably because they overfilled it to satisfy his constant bitching.

Now take me, I never got my ATF lvl checked because It took me but a moment to diagnose it as a software issue, but if I had listen to the nonsense here, I would have wasted countless hrs. and got mine overfilled too.
But after a few days of ownership I noticed it began to learn and act better and this continued till around 1800 miles. Afterwards it was just fine tuning adjustments and I’m at 9k+ and I just don’t see how it could be any better.
Same thing with the U-joints, they say it’s dry here, he pushes that and that’s B/S too. They have the recommended lube, no one’s gonna loose a U-joint because it was dry from the factory, that’s nonsense.
But ppl like that one guy keep telling ppl that and they end up with real problems like he did.

But to each their own, I’m here to tell everyone the real story when I can because unlike him, I have a real life and I’m not here 24/7 trolling and trashing B/S.

    Hope that helps
    Cheers!

All in all I found this form to be very useful , What you need to do is build up a nice ignore list it works great ! and it won't take long to figure out who the neagative idiots are and they're very consistent and offer no useful info so you won't be missing anything. The ignore list is is your best friend around here and another great purpose of it is if you ignore people like that eventually they just go away , by responding to them you just make them more powerful. Never respond ! just completely ignore them.

It wasn't a warranty issue he helped me with...

And you know, to be honest, you're as bad as some of the people you're bashing with all your trolling. Just put them on ignore if you don't want to read their posts.

And no, it wasn't helpful at all.
