GLWS OP. I've always been curious why some Jeep guys take off the spare tire. Any particular reason other than preference?

 

Ahhh, yeah i liked the look. better visibility out the back, and it saved me some money. there wasnt a jeep in my area like that until i did it. i like being a little different/standing out. thats why im going with the inferno color on my tacoma once i sell this.

 

Visibility is definitely nice. I removed the back seat in my wifes wrangler, and it was a night and day difference with it gone.

 

yeah the headrests do sit a little high.

3rd gen, i really like them. my dad had a 2nd gen and i liked it a lot, but i want something new.

jeep is sold fellas, looking at getting my tacoma in the next week! they found the perfect one, just is a 2016. any thoughts? i want a 2017, but i am carless at college and i will need one soon. This 2016 is exactly what i want though. hoping i can get a deal.

 

Have you read through the 3rd gen "complaint/Toyota needs to fix this" threads? There are many. But there is also quite a few who love there 3rd gen. Have you driven one yet? Many of the complaints I hear about my '13 is just as guilty of. I say get what you like. If you love it you can live with the quirks.

 

afraid to read it to be honest haha, i have driven 3. both trd models and the limited. i loved them. i want the 2017 rear window but i dont want to be stuck without a vehicle for 1-2 months.

 

At least check for TSB's so you can have all those done before you even leave the dealer with one. Now go forth and conquer.
