More importantly, where was/ what trail was this? I see you're in SLC and I plan on going to school out there somewhere within the next year or so. It's a good question.

Maybe just don't do it in a truck that isn't built for it.

If he's really running 37s on a block lift in the back, it's no surprise that the road systematically found and exploited the weak links.

I get the suspension falling apart... but the gears failing? He said he recently regeared, i guess there could have been a defect that was exploited by the heat and stress...

 

Once those traction bars let go, I'll be it was just a matter of time for the diff. Blocks and flat springs and some bad road probably had the axle wrapping like mad.

 

It was a matter of time on the rear leafs they were getting weaker and im carrying an extra 1600 lbs in Armour, sliders, dual battery mod, winch bumpers ect. The trucks suspension was not up to pare with what i was doing with it! I have been building it and swapping out weak parts and now i know the rear is an issue. So i have already ordered some new alcan spring packs. And the lift block was installed by the previous owner that's going in the garbage Im trying to decide what to do with the rear diff. It may be under warranty. And if its not im thinking of going with a toyota 9.5" or a ford 9" rear end and doing the front SAS conversion Ive got $2500.00 earmarked for this repair so far.
