I emailed AFE, and they stated the scoops are still under development, ETA end of August, but that is what they said in July.

AFE has a MAP pricing policy, thus we are not authorized to post prices after discount for Forum Memberships.

If Im correct, I read the scoop mounts Behind the radiator which will draw HOT engine air into the intake along with Cold air as well, kind of negating the COLD air draw ....

pretty sure from the designs I have seen that the scoop will mount above the radiator and as the vehicle move will act as a "ram" forcing additional cool fresh air into the intake. Very similar concept to how my WRX draws air into the intake currently.

They need to make the scoop pipe out ahead of the radiator to the side like this one.

You should do some sort of before and after test to see if it helps!

It seems like if the scoop can actually pack the box with "outside" air, that's your best chance for a performance boost..

no they shouldnt. the URD intake was the worst intake I ran on my 08. Exposed the filter directly to dust and water and a heavy enough rain will choke the motor out completely

and at the end of the day, this is a naturally aspirated truck. Intake temps really dont mean anything and wont affect much, its all about CFM increase which the AFE provides.

I meant they should put the scoop out there ahead of the radiator (possibly with charcoal filter), and leave the filter in the box where it is. But if the one they made to go over the radiator does in fact avoid the hot air coming off the radiator then that should work well. Some testing with a digital temperature readout in the intake tube would be cool..

I will when I get it (still in development according to AFE). I ordered one already.
My intake is also coming late, just got a note stating Aug 30 shipment.

I loved that intake when I had it on my Xrunner !! low intake temps and loud ! but yeah in heavy rain it would choke out
