6 ply is the C load and 10 ply is the E load. I believe most prefer the 6 ply.

Hey guys, need help!!! I purchased Black TRD semas...also have a Icon stage 4 kit on its way from Arizona. Im back and forth about what size tires to get. Some people say KO2's 275/70R17 are good and some say stick with stock size of 265/70R17. Anyone running the bigger tire and experience any problems? Please help me before i go purchase the wrong one......and I guess as far as a spare if i go 275/70R17....im gonna have to rely on AAA if something ever happens :(

Did you pick up those wheels from the dealer in Olympia or one of the online Toyota dealers you can find a link to here at TW?

Are you running wheel spacers to push those wheels out a bit?

It looks really great and no real need to lift it or level it.

I see now that you are running the 265/70 17 6 ply. Very nice.

I know this post is a couple months old and I'm a newbie here but I just thought I'd chime in. I went to my local Toyota dealer questioning adding the TRD pro 17's with BFG AT KO's on my 16. They ended up price matching Olathe's online price and my Sams Club price for the BFG's. Couldn't be happier of the service from Koch 33 Toyota parts department. Getting installed Wednesday morning!

Tachohotshot doesn't seem to know what size tire he has....

First he says he has 275/70R17 with no lift and no rub. o_O Nope. I can promise you that size tire will rub with no lift.

So now he says he has 265/70/R17 with no rub ...yes that makes sense.

However he also said that the 265/70/R17 is no larger than the stock tire size 265/70/R16 (not true, the 265/70/R17 is 1" larger). Just proof you need to take some posts with a grain of salt. A lot of misinformation out there.

    hey Tacohotshot,

Just for reference, do you have the 265 or 275 K02s?

For people that have been researching tires, it would be harmful if you recommend 275s (and say no rub) when in reality you have 265s.

We're all Tacoma enthusiasts here and we should help each other out!

    Thanks!

Got the wheels online on ebay, thru the link here on TW.
Then went to Discount in Oregon (no tax) to get the tires.

    No spacers or any lift.

Do you have 265 or 275? 275/70/17 rub with stock suspension....bad. I will be happy to share the pics. I found out the hard way by following posts that said the opposite... Luckily I was lifting my Taco the next day. Even after the lift, I had to remove the mud flaps because it was still rubbing.

With stock suspension on TRD wheels, it's already been well proven that 265/70/17 will not rub. A lot of us have this setup.

But if you go around telling everyone that the TRD wheels on stock suspension with 275/70/17s don't rub -- well that's just false information.

From your pic, you have 265s, NOT 275s.

    That's a 265. BFG doesn't seem to make a K02 in 255s.

Plus, if I squint carefully, I can almost make out the 'C' in load rating.

Ok. Now the "no rubs" makes sense.

BFG does make a 255 in the K02: I really think that pic looks like 255...I could be wrong.

I enhanced it the best I could...looks like 255 to me. I still can't see the load rating...255's are E.

Ahh, the plot thickens. All the OP has to do is tell us which tire he has instead of being all vague and spewing out mis-information.

We understand his setup doesn't rub - that was loud and clear. I don't doubt it either.

But telling folks you don't rub with 275s when other folks have tried it and it does rub is bad juju for someone researching tires for their truck.

Again, I came to this forum to learn and also write my direct experiences with the truck.
