Hey that's awesome you gave it a shot, and knew when your limitations were reached...sounds like full skids are definitely a must have for that trail

That SAS 2nd gen tho

Clearance is needed more than skids. 35's and skids. It's crazy big rocks on rocks on rocks

It was really cool to watch wheel I've obstacles with ease. Only him and an ifs 2nd gen on 35's did John Bull. Well at least from our group.

There was a 35" min tire group that @Jimmynolife wheeled with. There were some ridiculous monsters in that group. Crazy how much work some of those rigs had. Definitely a different league.

@MADSTEEZE Ditto on the skids, for what you do as well, you should look into full skids underneath. It only takes 1 hit on the transfercase afterall.

Also Question: do you know if your trail leader's SAS was 3 or 4 link?

    Honestly not sure.

It was the kit through AllPro. He had the diamond housing. Not sure if that helps tho

It helps, that's been the kit I've looked at. I think it's 3 link. Not sure yet If I'll go SAS though. It's hella time and finance intensive.

Yeah the owner said he had quite the time trying to get every bring from AP. Took like 80 something days.

He wasn't very happy with them.

Yeah the more I look at it, seems dana 44 is the way to go.

Diamond is the way to go IMO. A stock Toyota axle with chromo shafts is stronger than a stock 44. Unless you shell out $5000+ for a dynatrac that is. It just seems like all pro has a shipping dept problem . I'm scared to order my expo leafs lol

I'd sooner just put all that money into beefing up an older, pre '86 Toyota pickup or 4runner with the solid front axle and use it as my trail rig. With the money it would cost to SAS a rig, you could do all kinds of sexy things to one of those older pickups.

The axle and kit seemed great. Just his experience with AP wasn't the best.

You would know way more about it than I would. Lol. I'm pretty much a noob to SAS. In fact I shouldn't be talking about this, too much $$.

So.. @Mike likes Tacos @eon_blue @Sandtaco @digitaLbraVo @stvstoy Are we planning the Gold Mountain run now? Saturday the 27th?

Who else wants to do this?

We need a drone that can fly over the trail though and make sure we've got some room ahead of us.

We got so hung up behind a big group of jeeps taking FOREVER!

Great trail with a solid amount of difficulty for our rigs, and a rock garden.

    Let's do this!

So this would have to be on Sunday for me, sorry gents

Maybe Sunday would be a little less crowded? :notsure:

They've changed the date of this gig on me twice now so I'll let you know if it happens again, so far though it seems set for the 27th
