Looks good! After I put the rack on my old Tacoma I took the head liner out and put a ton of sound deadener in there as it gets a little noisy going down the highway or in a crosswind. Maybe the 3rd Gens have better soundproofing though.

After driving around a bit with the Prinsu rack, wind noise is not a big issue. There is a little but nothing noteworthy. The front wind plate works well at directing the flow above the bars. I can reach up and grab them while driving down the road and there is an obvious dead zone of wind from the bars and up 12" or so. Well designed set up.

It's not the trucks fault. Mostly it's the owners who sit on the internet complaining about their truck rather than just getting out and using like the OP.

I started a bunch of wiring today. Got lots in place but nothing new hooked up except I moved my Hella optilux cubes to the back rack and put some Caliraised 3x2 pods on the ditch mount brackets. I'll try them out tonight as I'm headed out late for a quick overnighter looking for Elk. I did make some progress on my onboard water but it is not finished nor operational yet. Here is a photo of all the supplies and how I mounted the rear lights.

I'll be camped out farther to the north in the Schell creeks from September 1 till the 16th trying to help my wife kill a bull with her recurve. That weekend I will need to be cleaning up gear before returning to work.

Well my overnight scouting trip turned into a bit of an uplanned wreck. Never made my destination as this morning before the sun even came up I blew a sidewall on one of my Duratracs. Looks like a metal puncture of some sort....Damn.

The worst part is this: I always carry two spares, so when I get one flat, I can keep on playing with no worry of getting stranded, then if I get another flat i will head for pavement. This morning, I got my first flat and tried to install my aftermarket 2nd spare first and the GOD DAMN lugnuts would not work with the Wheel that Les Scwabb Tires sold me. Fuck! So i dropped the factory spare and headed for pavement since the remainder of my morning route was a decent tire shredding trail. So, it looks like ill be heading to Les Schwabb in the morning to chew some ass about selling me a rim that did not work (truth be known it is partly my fault for not trying it out).

Wherever I tell people I want 2 spares they look at me like I'm stupid.

yeah, messed up plans but still being able to drive home is an annoyance. Making a bad decision that leaves me stranded 20 miles from pavement and another 45 miles to cell service is another thing. Best to know when to throw in the towel and regroup. Beats leaving my truck in the hills and walking out any day.

What wheels did you get? I'm guessing you needed spline drive lugnuts?

Not sure of the brand. I would need to look up my receipt. But you are correct differentry lug nuts would do the trick. I'd rather just have a wheel that worked with my current lug nuts however. One less bag of parts to loose or forget.

I hear ya, I have Method Wheels on both my Toyotas so I have to have the spline drives. My problem is always misplacing the spline drive socket haha

Current finances have kept me from buying the full coilovers I want. So, for the short term I have finally got my 5100's installed on all four corners. Fronts are set at .85 and it rides so much better than stock. Why Toyota does not use these relatively cheap shocks from the factory is a mystery to me. They ride so much better than the factory shocks. I'll update the first photo in this thread later to show how this truck sits today.

I had always thought 5100s were basically adjustable versions of the OEM TRD OR shocks. I'm in the same boat on coilovers, maybe it's time to pull the trigger for some 5100s myself.

I do not think the rears changed the ride much but the fronts seem to have much better rebound dampening. The truck bounces far less and settles down much quicker after the bumps. Plus the shock bodies are much larger than the stockers. All I know is I got them installed and hit the same two speed bumps coming into the office this morning at faster speeds than normal bracing myself for the impact and it was much nicer than stock. Less body roll into the turns as well. Overall I'm super happy for the price. I gave them one offroad work out and have the same impression. I'll be offroad all weekend and will report back.
