Thought about it but considering the sealed tranny and the difficulty most dealers have getting ATF levels right with a stock cooler I don't plan on changing it. I could always prefil it and beg my dealer to check the full level but it'd be simple to throw a electric aux fan on. There's no real problem anyway so I'm over it...

    I haven't calculated it, yet.

    599 trailer. (699 regular price)
    48 County tax.
    20 permanent registration.
60 two sheets of 3/4 sanded ply.
    20 various hardware.
    30 sealer paint for ply.
    25 tongue jack.
    10 zerk dust covers.
    5 license plate hardware.

About 820? A Carson or BigTex would have been around 1450 after taxes and registration but comes with a welded in wood deck. I need to buy a spare tire.

Glad to see you have a good attitude about this. Lots of people would come on this forum, shit all over it for not being able to tow then brag about how awesome their new truck is. Good luck with your new truck and drive safe.

I traded it for a Ram 1500 crew cab with a 5.7 and 3.92 gears - rated for 10,300 lbs towing. The difference is night and day. I'm waiting for a UWS toolbox to arrive this week and probably put running boards on it as even the 2WD models sit fairly high.

Hi guys, wife and I are tossing around the idea of purchasing a RV. Visited a few places today getting ideas of what we may want but am getting conflicting information on what I could and could not tow.

The wife and I picked a few of one's we likedo and I thought maybe posting here I can get some good advice.

I have a 2016 dcsb sr5, I have never towed anything before but I'm sure I'll get the hang of that

Here is a couple of trailers we likes so far, you think the weight is an issue?

192T would be my recommendation. I think the 2nd option is too much weight once you factor gear, water, people, etc. Especially if planning to tow up any grades. I think keeping total weight of trailer down under 5000lbs would be critical. In fact regularly towing anything over 4500 would probably not be great for this vehicle's capabilities.

IMAG0875.jpg 10 foot long 6 foot wide utility trailer. Get between 15 and 18 mpg when towing. 22 to 24 mpg without. Truck does just fine. You know it is back there. My 03 silverado when towing you didn't know it was there and got the same mileage.

20 Ft. Crownline BR202 Taco tows it better than a 2011 Chevy 1500... Not as well as the 2014 Mega Cab 2500 Cummins Ram, but I only tow it a few times a summer.

Never thought I'd be seen agreeing with Smitty99, but he's pretty close. I tow 4250lb HiLo Towlite with electric brakes and weight distribution hitch; does really well climbing hills, not Rockys, but decent, plenty of power. Would not want to go beyond 5,000 lbs or much greater than 22 ft. Rule is to stay 15 to 20% below max towing capacity

Yep I am still deciding if a Gen 3 can tow my 2500 Casita well. It should technically, but after putting 2 or 3 extra people in the cab, and a few hundred pounds of extra gear in the camper (water, bikes, etc) I still wonder. I would love to tow my Casita over I70 in Colorado on my annual Wyoming to Moab trip without white-knuckling it the entire time. Looking to trade my old Tacoma in at end of year. Jusy my luck, my furnace blew up and ate into my down payment savings.

It is a noticeable "strain" on the truck when I have 3 other adults in the cab of my truck. Especially if they are grown men. Feel like I need to have it in ECT.

I think knowing how often you are towing and what elevation changes are important. I personally would not want to tow either of those through the Rockies with a Tacoma.

    Mostly stuff I built.
Moved my ex-wife's piano once... Tied a tow strap around it and drug it out the back patio door. Did a bunch of doughnuts in my back yard with it still tied to the truck. Then unloaded about 5000 rounds into it poured 10 gallons of diesel and 5 gallons of gasoline on it. Set that POS on fire and drank beer while throwing the rest of her shit on top of it... Good times!
