Did you ever go to the sand pits when they were open south of Arab?

Yeah a lot. My buddy was just down there in his rzr, said it's completely different and they have concrete barriers everywhere and big trees blocking all the entrances.

Yeah it's completely blocked off now, makes me mad because it was the best riding area ever.

@jmaack it was in an area called Hopewell, like 10 minutes outside of Arab. Amazing area to ride, it had hills, rocks, mud, sand, open area, tight trails, water (a pond), and streams and just everything you could want depending on what you were riding. Some people trashed the place and even took a monte carlo down and burned it and left it so the guy who owns the land shut it down. Some people ruin it for all of us.

It's off the side of brindlee mountain toward guntersville sandwiched between hwy 231 and 79. If been shut down a few years now. It used to be and awesome place to go ride but the land got bought to mine and cut timber off of.

It got bought? The owner shut it down after it got trashed once, so was that after that or before and did whoever bought it shut it down?

Yeah it was just recently bought maybe 3 years ago. It's when they really got strict and started blocking things off with barriers. It's a shame I used to take my white truck up there pretty regularly. Now they've got it all tore up.

Yeah man I took my 89 during high school all the time, I remember going down there whenever the owner dug like a 7 foot ditch and put all the dirt on the other side mounded up so nobody could get into the entrance. very sad times haha. We spent like every weekend riding down there in high school.

It's sucks, but we have in countered some pretty sketchy shit down there. Something serious was bound to happen sooner or later. They should have just made the place an off-road park.

Yeah I mean, when somebody drove the monte carlo down there, and left it. Then the next weekend it was burned to a crisp and had been driven on...we were like...uh oh about to get closed.
