Oh yeah? I hadn't heard about the change. Hopefully you can make it. I plan on seeing as little pavement as possible in getting there. Shane has a pretty solid route he takes that only requires about 200 miles of pavement from here to Moab.

I'm going to the Pelfreybilt Labor day camp out and I know they go every year. I'll be sure to talk with Tyler and Satin about the route they take as well. We have a year to get fully overland ready. Let's do it!

Had a good time in Big bear this weekend. First time wheeling what i consider "hard" shit. Went on White mountain and had a great time. The camping festivities with the TTORA guys was fun too.

I would love to do this! I'll have to look into what's needed to make my rig overland ready. If feasible, I am in!

High clearance, good offroad tires, knowledge of how to repair your tires, armor is a plus (skids and sliders at a minimum), knowing how to read a map and use a compass, first aid knowledge, using a hi lift safely and correctly, yadda yadda. And of course enough gas to get you 200+ miles overland without needing a fill up. The list is vast but this is good spot to start

That hill climb was tons of fun. The last bit was pretty gnarly too. I think i hit the sliders once and my skids once. Not bad haha

nope, my co pilot, the girlfriend, was pucker moment most of the time and didnt want to take any haha

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Shoulda watched mine stick and drop my truck 3 times yesterday... @eon_blue @Mike likes Tacos

The stuff I'm seeing says in the door's weather stripping if you don't want to drill or just "do it proper" remove the headliner and drill.

A third option is running underneath and up the back window? Super convoluted but it is a third option...

Haha. I saw some pics of your guys' mod day. I cringed at the photo of the hi lift hooked up to someone's slider with the door shut. I've heard stories of the lift malfunctioning, flinging up and smashing the door and window. Yikes.

That was mine. I saw a trick on a video of "hilift mistakes" you take the handle isolator and flip it 180 degrees on the I-beam. If for some reason it leans into the truck it'll just push the rubber stopper up against the paint.

The pins kept sticking despite several WD40 dousings before usage... YOu'd go to lower it and it wouldn't "walk" (Pantera, be damned!) it would kinda sit there a few times and with quite the audible "POP" would drop the truck back on the tires. :boink:

By attempt #3 it was working as normal. Weird as fuck.

The "Blackwidow" Charlotte and the "widow maker" 60" hi-lift seems... fitting.

@eon_blue how'd those Rowher night pics come out?

I can't remember exactly where that one was, I picked up a few before I bought the hi-lift but here was one I enjoyed:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1a_5IpDzPPI

But I saw someone say "Keep your hand there and it'll fuck you up good if it slips." then he mentioned the isolator.

I've done it every time since.
