maybe a bushing could be made? Something like this maybe. Cut it in half and insert the two halves. Then you'd have tight fit around the whole circumference.

That would work. Now you just have to find it.

While pa-rusing the site for other info, I came across this discussion. This has been a PITA for 4 years! Cant believe its this simple and was about to go home and stick a zip tie in it.

Just for giggles, I just called my dealership...low and behold, 2005 - 2012 TSP 0057-12. They replace the intermediate shaft to fix the problem.
Im taking my truck in next week to be 'tested' for the problem, then they will have to order the part to replace it. Will let you know how it works out.

Also, new Body Armor bumper got delivered today...will be installed this weekend! :)

Does this apply even if you are out of warranty?

TSB's are not free if your out of warranty. A zip tie is cheap and works well.

With your 2012 you are out of the 36/36 warranty. Unless the dealer is going to eat it you will still have to pay.

TSB is only free while in side of the bumper to bumper 36/36 warranty.

I crawled under there and found play in the joint, so I squeezed one zip tie in there with needle nose pliers. The play is gone, but the clunk is still there...

I'm in literally the exact same situation. My truck is 2015, if that helps anyone figure this out.

I just did this. Unfortunately, shit hit the fan. When I was putting the zip tie in, the green bushing thing was pushed down and I can't get it back into the joint :/.

Not really sure where to go from there.

I have a feeling we might have to try the other mod that involves loosening two nuts and moving the steering shaft down. It is described in this thread towards the beginning. I believe that after i installed my 884's which gave me 2.5 inches of lift, something changed somewhere and the steering shaft is now bumping on something in certain situations...

That's good that the dealer took care of it. Sadly I'm way out of warranty haha
