Help Releasing Electrical Connector Pins

I need some help removing the pins from this connector.



I have searched the web and TW with no success. Any links or advice is appreciated.

 

I have used a paperclip or very small screwdriver before to release the individual wires. Something that is small and flat works best. They do make little tools for that I believe, but I've just used what I have around the house. Try those small slots. Push the wire forward a bit from the back and gently insert the tool from the front then gently tug the wire to pull it out. Sometimes is takes from practire.

 

This might not be too helpfull, but there is almost always a special tool for doing so. Its amazing how well they work when you get the right one. As for what you need im not sure. Also some have barbs on them and are not meant to be removed without replacing. Usually they get damaged and you have to solder new ones on.

 

There's a lock that needs to be pulled first...it's the white center rim. Then you'll see where to press to release the secondary terminal lock.
Can you provide other angle on the plug, top, bottom, side and ass end...be more helpful, also looks like a sealed connector.

 

Thanks guys. I was not successful. I can always redo that wiring if I ever figure out how to get the pins out.

It works on Toyota plugs and connectors. I use. On my vehicles.

Are you planning on reusing the connector after rerouting the wire? The pic looks like female pins with an extra hook so they don't back out. Got a pic of the rear of the connector. May need to be pushed through and desoldered.

This is how the Army taught us to splice, I never knew it was NASA standard though.

 

Holy thread rejuvenation Batman! This thread was dormant for 4 years! I forgot I ever started it...

 

For us old guys (and I do mean old) that fix was originally known as a "Western Union" splice. In one of the variations, a square knot is made using the two ends and then the wire is spliced & taped (no solder on poles!) so that the knot takes the tension

 

We've been waiting 4 years for you to come back and tell us how it turned out
