I'm at about 7500 miles, always used GPS tracks and I've driven through rain before but today was the first time.

Maybe it's not GPS but more like HD radio and the weather maps?

I have this issue occasionally, If I connect multiple devices. I have connected my ipad via USB (surround sound) and my iphone via bluetooth. Essentially to use my phone as a wifi hotspot so my significant other can watch video while we drive. The system does not like multiple devices being hooked up to bluetooth and usb. It crashes almost every 30 minutes.

Our trip was on a cloudy day but i didnt note that as part of the problem.

I agree, the entune system has a problem with multiple devices. But it shouldn't have any problems with one device.

I have had 2 updates, 1 when my truck was new last November and one since then, those two updates required a reboot. I have GPS tracks on and pre/post images loaded, except for when I traded in my iphone5 for a iphone6 it croaked and rebooted once when I paired via bluetooth, it did not like the same phone name as my iphone5 so I had to change it, bluetooth pairing thing?

I am going to have the dealer make sure I have the latest updates on it when I go in for my 10k checkup just to make sure I have no issues related to an old image.

So here's my BS/I hate Entune little story since I just went through this two weeks ago...

I recently noticed that my radio would reboot randomly if I had my phone plugged in via the USB. Told the dealer at my 10k service and they opened a case with Toyota on it. Apparently no updates were available but immediately Toyota told the tech that the radio was essentially protecting itself. Their reasoning is that the phone was drawing too much power and that it was not designed to handle phones but rather smaller devices therefor the radio will reboot itself. Seems like BS to me but hey, whatever...

Additionally, they also mentioned that the same thing could happen if you are running a bunch of apps. I don't and didn't bother going into details but something about the radio not being able to handle such a scenario.

One day I'll just spend the cash and replace the head unit and be done with it.

Had a 13 and now 15 and never had a similar problem, sounds like a hardware problem to me.

It's the head unit. Mine did the same thing plus the navigation kept changing routes. I complained to the dealer, who in turn contacted Toyota. They replaced the head unit. This has been a few months ago and so far, no problem.

I don't get the rain thing. But it is an awkward coincidence.

I had this problem after the TSB - literally as I drove off the lot to my house (10m away) it rebooted 3 times. I turned around and showed a tech at the dealer, of course I was unable to duplicate. I was told basically to come back if it acted up again (the usual "we have no idea how to help you, please come back when it's not my shift").

I did some troubleshooting, and no promises on these results, but here's what I did: (Samsung S7 Android connected via Bluetooth)

    With the vehicle running
Removed all toyota/entune apps from my phone
Removed phone connection (bluetooth settings) settings/permissions
Set screen display to "2-panel" mode (I used audio and clock) - Basically, if you have the navigation panel on, turn it off.
TURNED OFF TRUCK*** This is important, the truck will NOT save these changes until you have shut the vehicle off (I had it reboot at this stage twice and everything was back to before troubleshooting)

I then reinstalled apps, synced to the vehicle, and left it on 2-panel mode. I had no more issues for 2 weeks. A few days ago I was going for a long drive and decided to use the navigation panel in 3-panel mode. About 1 hour into my drive - the head unit restarted. I turned the navigation panel back off and have not had any issues since.

So in my opinion, it's some kind of fuckery between our phones, the bluetooth or wired connection, and the Entune headunit. I don't think it's a failure per se, I think it's retarded programming they will need to fix that says "Hmm, this isn't what I expected, let me reboot!" when encountering a problem with Navigation, HD Radio, or other satellite/wireless locations. This is why I think the problem still occurs for some people when they get a replacement headunit.

No promises guys, this is just what helped me and I don't use the navigation feature enough for it to bother me not being able to use it.

PS - I am only able to test navigation, unsure if XM, weather, etc would cause this problem as I live in Alaska...where apparently satellites can't reach.

I think it may be a corrupt Bluetooth profile. Deleted phone from stereo and stereo from phone. Paired Bluetooth again and I'm good to go. Hopefully this issue will be fixed in an Entune update. The software can definitely stand some refinement.

I was on a long trip today and mine rebooted 6 or 7 times about 10 min apart. 1st time experiencing it was today after 3 hrs of driving using Bluetooth, pandora, usb, and fm over the course of the drive. Sunny day with no rain with 2600 miles.

I haven't had any trouble until today. Mine just rebooted about 5 times within 30 minutes. And here's the catch... it was the first time I've driven the truck in rain. I am in Texas as others stated may have something to do with it too.

Took mine to the dealer today. Also in Texas and suffering rain reboot. Dealer checked and confirmed I have the latest software. Disconnected battery and did a hard reboot. Said bring it back if I continue to have problems.

So I am going to the dealer in the morning. I finished out the week in Austin with it doing it off and on during the week when it was raining. Today I drove back to Northeast Texas and it only sprinkled a few times. Basically just cloudy. Didn't do it once.

Mine reboots when my iPhone 6plus is connected via bluetooth and through a 12volt anker charger plugged into the cigarette lighter. Only seems to do it after a few hours, I managed to take a picture the last time. IT just resets as if the ignition was started then the phone repairs.

I have had it happen where it drops the phone completely and will not reconnect or find the phone, unless I go apps, bluetooth and manual select the phone.

Dealer has no clue as to why.

Take it to the dealer, there is an update if you have a Panasonic radio.

Go to SETUP menu in apps, general, scroll down to software update, update,
Then look for the current version to be any one of the ones listed on the image attached to this post.

I wonder if I can upload the update files here? Anyone know?
