    There is supposed to be a "memory vial" either attached to the casket, or inside of it that had the information about the deceased and their plot. All contents of the casket such as a piece of jewelry, or a momento left inside during the wake/viewing are also listed inside the memorial vial.

    I dug graves as a kid and we had to move allot of plots and that is how we kept track. Some items listed on vials were funny...

    glass bottle, bourbon
    Steering wheel
    Pistol (which by law had to be permanently deactivated)
    Billiards cue
    And on and on.

    More than once while reading those lists I'd think to myself that this cat must have been allot of fun to hang out with back in the day.

    Digging holes and dropping - figuratively - boxes in them and then covering them up. Dead folks don't bother me cause I never saw them. When they were opened a guy from the yard, a medical examiner, a sheriffs deputy, and maybe a family member would be there. They'd do all that in a special building. There was some big murder case while I was there and they ordered three little kids dug up as the guy said he killed them too. Kinda screwed with the religious dudes and two of them walked off the job that day. Got a pay raise because of it.

    You'd have to be one hard up mother to do that as the caskets are sealed and then buried in heavy lidded concrete crypts. Told my wife to have me cremated. Burial is a waste of money and space to me. Take out whatever can help another and torch the rest.
