Reverse Osmosis water...Good or BAd.....

I say Bad. Ive seen what microwaves can do to water and this Reverse Osmosis shit can only be worse! Its depleting our ozone for crying out loud.

 

They installed a reverse osmosis system where I used to work. No one liked the idea because the water was terrible and we had a nice bottled water cooler. After it was installed, the water was as good as the bottled water. The bad side was the filter needed to be cleaned/replaced every few weeks. This was in a break room that was open 24 hours a day and in constant use.

 

Reverse Osmosis is used for saltwater reef tanks like mine. Here is my tank. Internet sucks in Iraq. But the only thing about it is that it removes 99% of everything in it. Making it almost pure H2O. And it tastes sooo good.

I have a system installed in my house for the fish tank and drinking and i only have to change my filter every 6 months. Just buy a replacement Filter. And all the blue bottles from any of those blue jug dispensers are RO water. The one i put in my house cost 175 from home depot and i test it for the saltwater and it is 99% clean of all minerals.

 

As a municipal water treatment, it's freakin expensive. You need high pressure pumps to force water through a membrane (hence the "reverse" part) If not forced the water flows from clean to dirty. The product it produces is amazing. Clean and tasty. I worked for an electrical engineer that specialized in water and sewer treatment systems for a few years. We installed a facility in old dairy lands that removed all the...basically, cow urine contaminants... from the water. What we produced was cleaner than bottled. I wish i could quote real prices but it's been about 8 years and prices have come down some. There is also a technique for standard osmosis purification that uses less energy. I just don't remember the details. I'll see if I can find a link.

If you can afford it, reverse osmosis is the real deal and the water it produces is just amazing... I ran it for saltwater tanks in San Antonio, TX. Anyone who has lived in SA can tell you the water out of most taps looks like chalk and is saturated with chlorine. RO cleaned it to where it was better than bottled water by far, all I had to do was get a new filter every few weeks (calcium carbonate clogs it pretty quickly).

I have a RO system in the house. The water it churns out is great tasting and clean as it can get.

 

I think if you drink a bottled water once in a while it has enough minerals to keep you going.

 

All you have left after the RO process is water.

Tampa Bay Water has the largest RO plant in the world producing over 20 million gallons per day. We are running out of water in South Florida and will be seeing a lot more RO in all utilities on the coast.
