I have a '15 TRD OR, did someone say the wiring is in the headliner for the temp/compass rear view mirror? Where can I access that? Where can I get the mirror?

There is power wiring in the headliner, in front of the overhead console piece. You remove it and there's a connector stuck in front of it you fish out. There IS NOT wiring for a temperature sender in the headliner. If you get the Gentex mirror, you can search on it, there's a guy on here that sells them (Bob?), you have to string the temperature sender wires to the front of the grill yourself. It's not hard, but it is NOT plug and play.

Check before you buy. Some of the 2015's don't have the wiring in place for the mirror.

My 15 had the turn signal pre-wired already.

Does the Gentex mirror have a compass too or just temp and auto dim?

@TacoJova is your 2015 an Off-Road model? I would love to add OEM turn signal mirrors but don't want to run wire.

Any chance you have photos of what those wires inside the door/mirror look like. I'd like to know what I'm looking for to see if it's pre-wired.

    Thanks!

Do i need to take off the entire headliner? Is there an easy way to check for the connector?

Wondering about the fog lights in a 2013 DCSB base model. Anyone know if they're usually pre-wired? Haven't found a definitive answer yet and bought my truck used so I can't just check the original invoice or anything.

Sadly I didn't take any pictures. There's a really good Youtube video that shows you how to take the door apart, takes about (max) 10 minutes. The connector is a round, barrel shaped connector with fairly tiny pins, and it's secured in a clip in the upper right (drivers side door) corner of the door, just below where the mirror bolts into the truck. A test light should tell you whether the wires are there for the turn signals. The ProEfx mirror instructions came with pretty good pictures, you might ask the vendor if he would send you the docs.

You don't have to pull the entire headliner. You just have to remove 1 of 2 screws that hold the console up to the ceiling, and after that it's held with a couple of clips. There's better directions and pictures here someplace, search is your friend :)

Thanks, I think I saw someone post removing the headliner to install sound deadening material. I was hoping there was a quicker way, so I thought I'd ask. ;)

One piece of advice on a pitfall. There's a black triangular piece that covers the corner of the door in the extreme upper right corner of the door. To remove it you just pull it straight out, but there's a catch. There's 3 fairly tiny white plastic clips that hold the cover on. You need to pull those clips out (I used a needle nose pliers) and put them on the COVER side of the clips before you put it back together. Be careful not to lose the clips inside the door, they're a pain to get out. Not succeeding on this steps is a trip to a dealer and the clips were like $6 a PIECE, for about 2c worth of plastic. The Youtube video doesn't make that part very clear.

The harness inside mine had 5 wires but the my old mirrors only used three of those wires going up. the ones with turn signals use all 5.

Ahh, I gotcha. Thanks! I wasn't sure if I was supposed to be looking for an additional plug in there.
