I hear you man! I lucked out with this job... For real! It doesn't pay quite as good as the things I could get down your way, but my quality of life is there with a 10 min commute, no traffic, and in the country. And a brewery right down the road for lunch!:cheers:

Yea but where I make more at I lose with the cost of living here. Comes down to quality of life and places to park your truck with a lift. I need to go wheeling soon dammit. We should organize something, or get a good brew.

Just saying "what up?" to the NOVA Taco drivers. I'm a noob to these boards, but have been in NOVA since 2004. I'm down in Stafford now after living in Falls Church and Alexandria for over a decade. The commute up north for work sucks, but I get to enjoy it in my Taco.

Thanks, Coot. I was over in the Shirlington area of Alexandria. After having 2 motorcycles and 4 wheels stolen, I found my non-Taco ride on cinder blocks one morning - so nice of them, I moved to Falls Church in 2010. I was there 5 years before getting married and moving to Stafford where my wife's family is from. I use my EZ pass as much as possible, but also ride a motorcycle to use the lanes for free in the warmer months. It helps to keep the miles off my Taco. I put in an order for a Taco TRD Pro and am trying to keep miles off my current Taco so I can sell it soon.

Ah I got ya. Another swapper! It will be interesting to see what you turn up with the new taco. I cant believe you had that much stuff happen in Alexandria. Im right off the duke exit by the bum-ass landmark mall. I guess Im lucky people tend to pass through that area more than live there. Good thing I keep my mountain bikes inside my room! I bet the 4wheeler sees more action where you are at now anyway assuming you replaced it.

No, I had the wheels on my beamer stolen. I got my current Taco after my then-fiancée told me the beamer was a bachelor's ride and I needed to get rid of it...lol. I had an '05 X-Runner before that. I'm stoked about the Taco Pro, though it is pricey for what you get, but the cement color is just so sick! I am disappointed that I'm losing my long bed, though. I haven't found an area down in Stafford yet to have some off-road fun, but the 4wd is necessary as many of the secondary roads barely get plowed in the winter.

My commuter bike is a 2012 BMW R1200RTP (former LA County Sheriff's bike) and my toy is an '09 Honda CBR1000RR Repsol. The BMW is great for my 110 mile commute daily. The riding position and windscreen keep me from getting beat up by the wind and I barely get wet with road spray if there's light rain. I like the streetfighter look of your FZ-09.

After seeing some other Pro threads I have to admit it would be hard to say no to that nice package even though you will probably mod it. Any idea when you will trade in the taco? Also I have a DC so I am used to having a short bed. Unless you have a tonneau cover on it like I do, you would be surprised what you can do in the bed if you are a little creative. I would think they would offer an option for a long bed in the pros there, but I guess not.

I'm looking to sell my DCLB by the middle of September as I am supposed to take delivery of the Pro by the end of September. I talked to the dealer about a trade in and they weren't giving me anything that was worth it so I'm going to try the open market and hope I can find a buyer. I had my frame replaced under the recall last year ($18k worth of work) so I'm hoping that will count for something.

Dang man what is the recall on the frame about? Was there a major design defect?

Which town are you in? I live in Hamilton but spend a lot of time in Purcellville and Round Hill.

It had to do with the frame rust issue. Toyota recalled Tacos to spray the undercarriage to prevent them from prematurely rusting away. Because I bought mine used from Boston, there was a lot of rust on it and they found a hole in the frame. This caused them to replace the entire frame under the recall. They had my Taco for 7 months and I drove a 2016 Highlander Hybrid in the interim as a loaner. It is pretty crazy when you think about it, but Toyota Corporate was adamant that they wanted to show customers that they stand by their products and will fix defects (in the wake of the airbag issue). So, they spent $18k in parts and labor to give me a brand new frame.

Oh this is for the 2000-2004 models right? I remember my 04 got sprayed for free because of this. Being in the Boston area you def probably had some crazy rust there. I think I am starting to see why you might be a little excited for a new ride now.

Yeah at the time I was looking for a TRD Sport DCLB in black and the only one I could find was in Boston. I flew up there and drove it back to NOVA. It's a good looking truck still and with the new frame and 2016 sport wheels I'm going to put on it, I'm hoping I can get something good for it to put toward the Pro.
