    Off my truck yes. 1st gens roof are a lot weaker so I'm not going to on my truck. But I've seen 2nd gen guys do it

    I do all the time. Not that there is a major need to but when I was wiring my lightbars I was up there for awhile. Or if I need to tie down gear I can't reach well I will stand on it.

    If you extend the spikes for your tripod, they lock into the channels on the rails.

    Excellent! I was actually going to fabricate a metal plate taking up about 25% of the rack to better distribute my weight and to prevent a rail from bending or misstepping. Good to know about the tripod spikes.

    Expanded steel or aluminum would probably work pretty well without adding a ton of weight. Would suck to sit or lay down on for any amount of time tho.

    was going to.. but between the RTT and wanting the light toward the rear of the truck as much as possible, i opted for pods on the rear of the bed instead.
