Mine has been good so far. The adaptive learning was reset with the update. It felt better then the truck did brand new. The transmission. Logic feels more confident to which gear it should be in. Truck feels a little peppier.
My symptoms were not too bad before the update after the truck learned my driving style. But I decided to get it done anyways. Happy I did.

I'm in Canada right now - half way between Madoc and Bancroft FTW - my tranny shifts exactly the way I want it to... It's an M/T.

I'm on my own private island - Cottage 420 - smokin weed, what else??:rasta: ... oh and fishing swimming Kayaking general fun and merriment. I'd add wheeling to that but there's enough dirt roads here ... just cant get my lazy ass off the island except to run for more beer.

On the note of canadians, how are the canadian ones standing?
almost all of these threads complaining about problems are american ones. I wonder did we get lucky up here and not get all the problems they have down south?

I think we're luckier or something. My trucks been perfect, it's a manual transmission. Shifts like butter no matter what length of time I drive it. No funky truck vibrations like people are whining about on here, no rear end howling, no leaks, nothing! Could not be happier with it!

With regards to the TSB update, I just had mine done yesterday, I can already notice a lot smoother shifting and it will upshift in cruise control and not get stuck in 4/5th gear like it use to after climbing a hill. Also noticing it seems to hold the gear a bit longer instead of upshifting to early. Will see how this holds up as it was mentioned the adaptive learning was also reset at the sometime, might be just the reset that makes it feel better?

Anyways, right now I am happy, before I was a bit put off at my tranny.

    Mine too!

And oddly enough (for the poster a few above), I drove right through Madoc and Bancroft just the other day.

And like another poster, I'm headed to Sudbury this weekend as well. Hopefully we don't run into a driving nightmare because of our PM who's there this weekend too.

I've owned a 2011, 2014 and now my 2016 Tacoma Sport. I've been so disappointed with the transmission on my '16 that I've considered selling it and buying another '14 or '15 or even (gasp!) the new Colorado. I decided to give the update a try before I took any drastic measures. I was due for my 25,000 mile service and the Rear Diff recall so I figured I'd have them do the update at that time. I've heard other dealers denying the request to do the update just because the customer asked for it without any specific symptoms, so I just played dumb about the TSB and described my symptoms exactly like it says in the TSB. They then said that there was an update for that which they would perform. "Ok, sounds good!"

Long story short: My Rear Diff WAS slightly leaking so they ordered the parts and I'll need to go in again for that service. They also did the T-TCI-4419 software update and so far I'm feeling much better about it. It seems to be performing more like my '14. If that trend continues after it re-learns my driving style, then I'll probably stick with this truck. If not, I'll trade her in before the end of the year. Fingers crossed...

T-TCI-4419 is the 2nd update AKA REV 1?
If so my was done about 6000 km ago.

Was great for crisp shifting and less gear hunting for about 2000 km and has now reverted back to close to before. Also got a mild clunk back when coming to a stop and it shifts into 1st again when cold.

The big plus for me was I gained about 1 L/100 better fuel economy. Still have that benefit. The TSB update done at same time as removing chin spoiler and adding CBI T3 bumper/winch so actual gains from TSB may be a bit higher.
