The only place that is bad for dust is the gap around the tailgate , that wouldn't be any different with a steel bed and rubber weatherstripping is available

That's not the materials fault, it's the design. Or the cap.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
I like it and would rock it...

One of the hardest things to do for any organization is accept change... All of the grumpy 1gen and 2genners will eventually drool over one that's been lifted... Same thing happened in 04 when the 2gen was released... Same thing happened when the 12s were released...

Give it time and I bet the naysayers will begin to change their tune...

I agree, I hated the 12 when I laid eyes on it but now I think it looks beastly.

The difference is I actually liked this one at first sight

Except that Toyota has billions of dollars in the bank and has made a ton of money off this truck. Why they cheaped out is beyond me.

Looks like they took the current Tacoma and slapped a tundra grille on it. Can't say I'm impressed with it. Hopefully some new drive train components will come out of this, buut after seeing that it still has rear drums I'm not getting my hopes up that it will have anything radically new. Most likely just updated versions of what's in gen 2 trucks.

I like the current 2015 - I think it looks good. I think this truck looks good as well. All the pictures prove to me is that it isn't going to be a hideous monstrosity like the Nissan Titan. This is just a horrible teaser.

I'm trying to line up size comparisons of the 2015 to the 2016, because it looks like the back door might be longer. Is there more back seat room? Did they move the dash forward so there's more overall interior room? What tuning or other engine changes have they made? What transmissions? Seat options? Interior electronics? Power rear window? What? WHAT?

The wife liked how it looked better than the Colorado, and that's good enough for me. If tall people fit in it, I'll be the first one on my dealer's order list.

It looks like you can simply check out any Gen 2. If you fit in that, you will probably fit in the "Gen 3".

I don't fit in the Gen 2 back seats, nor do the kids. We're TALL, but don't want/need a FS truck. So far, I've been able to roughly line up a side profile of the 2015 against the side profile of the 2016. Using the width of the front door as a reference, I think the back is bigger.

After checking this comparison out, the pendulum is swinging away from the Canyon and back to the Tacoma. It's even a nice Air Force blue!

Cab does look a little longer but I could be wrong, I love the color.

why is that top pic a mirror image? look at the emblems and stickers, and at first glance on the new truck (after many thoughts of discussed went through my mind) i thought they were bringing back SWB. im still not convenced that this is what it will look like because alot of the pics look shopped. like the one where the rear wheel is 6 in too far back in the well.

just noticed black out b pillars, kinda liking those

Scientific method. They needed to be facing the same direction in order to make comparison.

I immediately thought of that when toyota released their statement about it's off road worthiness.

It seems they have leveled it better than the second gen, definitely has less rake.

This made me scratch my head, too. Are we looking at a new Tacoma built more for the street?

I'm taking that 4x4 emblem and ditching my mud flaps though. Same as the Tundra one?

are we really gonna complain about the 4.0 that is 12 years old, but were gonna be ok with replacing it with a 3.5 that has been out since atleast the 06 rav4, prolly in the camry before that. at any rate its goin on a decade

Lmao. I love for all the haters come or and trash the loss of the new models. It's always the case. This is a beautiful truck now and was when the first pictures came out.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
To each his own, I like it but could never justify the much larger size. In my opinion, the Tacoma died in 2005 when they got bigger and were no longer a compact truck, JMO. They have their purposes for different people, but if I needed a larger truck, I'd just go get a full size, the size differences between the two are minimal now as are the price tags. Why limit myself to something with only 4 and 6 cylinder options when the same amount of money can get me a truck with a V6 or V8 option? With much more hauling/towing capacity and higher payload with the same gas mileage, it's a no brainer!

But, for now, I love my 2004 and it's all I ever need for what I use it for.
