What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Has anyone vinyl wrapped their silver/orange dash trim piece's? I tried searching but could only find that people painted them.

 

Look through the last few pages on the MGM thread, I saw someone did a carbon fiber wrap. Looks pretty good.

Ordered a TRD Pro skid plate for my 2016 Tacoma OR yesterday, picked it up this morning, $405.00, out the door. Install it tonight after I do an oil change.

Just rang up wheels and tires at Discount Tire. It stings after $1k+ lift kit. Hopefully when the wife sees it she'll forget about the money.

 

2" in the back and just over 2.5 in front. That's what I got with the 5100's and 887's

 

Think you can take a picture of how far the skid plate extends? Want to know how much of the components it protects. And did you order it from the dealership?

 

$405 for just a front skid plate!!!

 

First off thank you! I've got the Mastercraft courser mxt's 265-75-16, they are great tires oddly quite for how aggressive they are. Also they are a lot cheaper then others in similarities. They are basically the cooper discover stt pro's made by the same company. and yes it is a mountain bike on there!
CBoy808 on here made them for me does a great job!

 

It's same net for the 2nd Gen Tacomas, had it from my old 2010, just had to make a hook by the tailgate.

 

I'm pretty sure you have remove both the factory front skid and middle plate for the new TRD skid plate. I ordered from the dealer, everything is usually a one day turnaround, he mentioned there were 37 on the shelf in LA. I also looked on TRD4u and their cost would have been much more after tax and shipping.

 

I'm not sure why your bashing it...spent $40K cash after tax/registration and $2K for wheels/tires/lift as well as a bunch of little mods here and there. I guess $400 bucks isn't a big deal to me to spend on my truck!

Did you consider any aftermarket skids from TW vendors? Interested how the factory Pro one compares. $405 may seem high since you could have gone all-out (1/4" Aluminum powdercoated) for less, but it's your money so have fun with it! Post some pics when installed!

 

I saw the others from TW, but I wanted the factory TRD Pro version specifically for cosmetics and limited additional protection, plus I thought it looked sweet on the 2017 TRD Pro.

I'm guessing it's not so much $400, but what you get for that $400.

That said, I like the skid plate, and may want one sometime in the future!

 

Yeah, that doesn't match very well, but I'm sure they will say without a color sample they can't get it perfect. I also have the ARE shell, interior carpet was damaged from transit and the biggest piss me off was the dealer riveted on the back window frame a large dealer emblem without my consent, it was goddy as hell, green and tan in color, first thing done was removed the damn thing which of course left two holes in the frame.
