Just looking at the 2017 trd pro on toyotas website and it has by far the worst fuel economy rating. Wondering what this is caused by? Thinking different rear end maybe, anyone in the know?
    Thx in advance

Published MPG for the Pro is the same as the 2017 OR, which is unchanged from 2016. What makes you say it's worse?

TRD Pro and TRD Offroad use the same differentials, ratios are the same as other V6 models with the appropriate transmission option (4.30:1 for 6MT, 3.91:1 for 6AT).

lift and more aggressive tires. hood scoop too. that increases drag coefficient which hurts fuel economy. especially dont order with the pro decal package because weight is the enemy

I heard all 2017 come with 4.3. I think there is even thread about it somewhere here, I think.

Right. Its basically a cumulative mix of all the worst mpg parts available. Or tires, more lift than any other stock 3g, bad aero bits from both the sport and or (skewp and no air dam) plus weight from more skids= worst mpg you can get in a tacoma. Still wont add up to much, maybe a mpg or 2. And they are all things people are commonly doing anyways

I've heard that the TRD Pro has a 5.7L and 5.29:1 gearing with the 6MT/Supercharged version in the Tacoma.
