Sr5 head unit upgrade

What config is this? I didn't think Sr5s got the upgraded head unit or even an option.

 

New for 2017 SR5 gets better head unit, plus 4.31s may or may not be confirmed on the Auto Tranny V6 SR5 Trim only

They obviously typo'd the ad. Only the 2017 gets the upgrades.

 

That's the entune unit.

 

Wrong, entune has been out for years, Entune is the audio name for Toyota's systems. Entune Audio is standard on SR, Entune Audio plus is standard on Sr5, Entune Audio Premium is standard on TRD or higher trim, that unit is the Entune premium unit which requires different bezel for the dash to fit and isn't an option on the Sr5 so curious how the hell it's on this sr5 and yes that is an sr5 look at the red interior option only available on sr5 and no push button start.

 

It must suck to move from a TRD Sport to an SR5. Shoulda bought the Sport my man!

 

I believe the SR5 had a tech package for 16s that included the upgraded head unit as well as the blind spot and rear sonar.

Don't think it was popular cause for the extra $$$ why not just get a trd ?

 

Why? TRDs aren't being discounted much if at all in my area. I got $4k off MSRP for my Sr5 because there were two of them and they were sitting there for a bit. When you compare content of a 15 TRD Sport to a 16 Sr5 its actually more. I have the same head unit as my 15 TRD, I now have the instrument gauge display, locking glove box, quieter cabin, etc in my 16 Sr5. Exterior/performance wise I lost my side turn lamp indicators (big whoop), bilstein shocks and a hood scoop from my 15 to 16. Not sure why that sucks, the Sr5 16 actually is better than a TRD Sport 15 content/feature wise.

 

I guess it could have been a regional thing as well. I could have sworn I saw one in the north east.
