I'm currently having a lot of wiggling when driving and I'm not sure if it's due to the alignment or the balancing. Apart from that my TPMS sensor is still lit and has not gone off, I figured it was because they were new sensors. Another issues might be the techs didn't fill them to 51 psi. What is road force balancing?

Also just a heads to everyone that bought these tires or are looking to buy either online or at a shop, just found this on the falken website while looking for the proper PSI.

I'm definitely getting the wiggle too. I got the road force balance and it wiggles like crazy, I can feel it in the steering wheel.

If you can feel it in the steering wheel, you're likely still of balance. i read that not all road force balances are created equal; lots depends on the tech running it. Bring it back.

So discount tire direct shipped me these things out of balance after I paid for the road force balance? Awesome.

Good information to share. As for PSI I am running mine at 40 front and back with no issues. The road force balance is a digital machine that uses a roller over the top of the tire to find either raised spots or harder spots as well as finding the potentially heavier spot on your tire. It is much better than a simple static balance and typically the machine is more well calibrated. If you're having trouble balancing the tire it could be your wheels as well or one of the tire needs to be replaced entirely as sometimes the mold for the tire causes differences similar to a casting flaw.

I know after I got the road force done, my steering tightened up a bit. Not like it had a whole lot of play prior to, but it was definitely noticeable afterwards. You can google road force and find a locator for shops that have the machine

Found out after they were mounted some issues. This morning I had to top all 4 tires to 41 psi they were around 33-35 psi. Figured that would fix the tpms, noooope. Drove to work and had less wiggle in the steering so that issue fixed itself mostly because of the lack of psi? Either way the tpms lights flash and then stay on. Seems as they need to be programmed or they are malfunctioning. Fk!

i aired down to 32 just to see if I could feel anything different and sure enough there was a noticeable wiggle. Not through the steering wheel, but I felt it through the chassis. Aired them back up to 40 and it went away again. Mostly. Now I think I still feel a bit of bumpiness through the chasis, but I think that may have more to do with the stiffness of the carcass on these tires. I might not have noticed it initially because I wasn't monitoring for it. Anyway, if anyone can confirm that a harder carcas tire will transfer more road lumps through the chasis, then I'll write that concern off as non-issue.

Yeah, no. My experience has always been stiffer carcass tires require less psi, not more. Do the chalk test. You will feel more road bumps (wiggling?) with a stiff carcass tire, but it shouldn't be like an oscillation or a consistent level of shaking - like a paint shaker - that would be a bad balance.

    Do the chalk test

Oh, and then do the chalk test. :)

When I do the chalk test on me E-rated BFG's, it puts me at about 29-30psi. right in line with the door sticker. Remember, the Tacoma weighs a lot less than an F250. :)

I've got a few thousand miles on mine and they look basically like new.

I feel like I get better wet traction now than I did with my Duratracs.

I had Duratracs on my 14 GC and even with the AWD-ish quadra-drive, the tracs would still break traction during wet cornering and turns. Looked great, but not good wet weather hoops.

@canyon: I'll chalk test it tomorrow. Chalk test it tomorrow.

I'd be curious to know what your chalk test, chalk test results turn out to be. :)

So says that chalk test, chalk test.

90% of max psi for passenger rated does not apply here.

Also, got caught in a heavy downpour on the way home from work yesterday: wet traction is solid with these. I tried hard cornering and moderately aggressive acceleration into turns and could not break traction.

Lastly, for dummies like me that didn't already know: it was explained to me that out balance rear tires will be felt through the seat/chasis while out of balance front will shake through the steering wheel.

265/70/17 on TRD pro rims. Awesome! No additional road noise and they really fill out the wheel well. I agree with some of the other guys that pics do not do these tires justice. I think they look better then KO2s and should give me better rain performance. $600 installed. Can't beat the price. image.jpg

Do you have LT or P rated tires?
