Don't get me wrong, I do love the new style of the Pro Tacoma, and the new drivetrain crawler options are amazing, their best improvement. I just think the motors are WAY under powered for as large as these truck have become and especially for 40,000.00. The Pro Tacoma is not a small truck anymore. It's close to or as long as the size of my Tahoe because they come with 4 doors.

Yea, but for 40 grand it should be supercharged and there is NO superchager available for the 3.5 motor

in comparison, Ford’s upcoming Raptor will get a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 with more power than the current 411hp 6.2L V8), 450 hp from This v6 with only an exhaust system enhancement for probably the same price and has a 10 speed transmission.

If there was I would be lined up.
The way it sits the Tacoma Pro is a Raptor in Toyota form with no power compared to its competitors

It's a new truck just rolled out last year, there will likely be a turbo or 2 in the future for this motor. Take a look at what Lexus racing is doing. my .02

Yeah Mike sweers the chief engineer had a good article on why they didn't do a diesel. He's a cool guy I have talked w him before. I just wish we could get cement as an option on the regular trucks.

Tundra pro has a pretty substantial wheel travel and articulation over the stock suspension.

I don't think the recording and/or speakers give full justice. Even though it sounded(to me) quieter, it seemed like a deeper tone....Which is exactly what I'm after. Will need to hear one in person, but the ~$850 price tag is a bit steep.

Honestly. It seems for most people an sr or se5 is good enough. If your going to get a lift and modc your truck why get an off road. At least that's how I feel with mine although I still love it and the extra few goodies.

Got the OR for the factory locker. The extra goodies were a nice bonus. But you can get an OR for a reasonable price. The Pro's I'm guessing you can't for a majority of them.

That's just my opinion. I understand people have more money than I do and can spend it on what they want to spend it on and that is completely fine!

    Pending....

Just chiming in on the shin busters, I am a victim on that with my 2016 Tacoma and the predator tube steps, I jacked my shin up pretty bad when I slipped on them getting in!

Any recommendation on something less dangerous!

It's only .5" higher up front according to this thread, and the guy measured from the ground instead of the hub, so that means it's less than .5".

The second gen Pro was ~1.75" taller in the front than a TRD. Given that the third gen TRDs are already 1" taller than the second gen, it would make sense that the third gen Pro is only ~.5" taller.
