I have a bulb out behind my heater control knob and was wondering what type of bulb it takes. It seems to be orange. Also when I drive with the cruise on whenever I hit a bump, it turns off the criuse. What is this from? Thanks

    Check out Sylvania. I think it's a 194 bulb.

My truck also sucks to use cruise control. It does the exact same thing as yours. I believe it's because of the clutch. Because if you barely tap the damn thing the cruise disables. Probably something you can do with the sensor or switch to fix it, but I never use cruise since I'm always shifting from 5th to 4th when I'm on the freeway anyways...damn lack of power...

i had to replace some on my 99 behind the heater controls. mine were a really small bulb, a whole lot smaller than 194, they are about the size of a sunflower seed, autozone should have them. fyi, mine had a green rubber cover over them that you have to take off and put on the new one.

This was one of the first things i had to replace on my truck. The original bulb is a sylvania 74, which is significantly smaller than a 194. I remember replacing them with sylvania 2721 bulbs because they were slightly higher wattage. I've had them in for about 2 months now with no problems. Edit: Just noticed the post above and i should add, this was on a '98 truck the bulbs may have changed (ie: '01+ trucks might use a different bulb).

I believe you just answered a question I've been trying to figure our for a long time. I was trying to adjust the clutch interlock switch and I noticed another button the pedal hits when the clutch is completely engaged (your foot is completely off the clutch). I couldn't figure out what it was for and now I believe it's for the cruise.
As for your problem, you could short that out, but that may be kinda dangerous

go to the parts store and ask them to look it up, or take it out and bring it to a parts store and match it up. shouldnt be hard at all to find the right one. 194 is definitely too big

I'm looking for info on how to changet the climate control bulb (90010-05120) on the instrument panel of my "01 Tacoma. I've taken the knob and first panel off before to look inside and want to make sure I can change it before I order the bulb from the dealer. Any ideas?

I did what you did, just take off the first panel so you can see the bulb and get to it. It was a tight squeez, but I got it in there.
