Took a weekend trip to the Smokies and did took a mild wheelin trip. Scared my wife pretty good I believe but I was very timid since I had my 4 yr old in the truck and was the only vehicle. Also I guess gettting older makes you appreciate you stuff more because I remember not being intimated when I had my Ranger back in the day, I was kinda afraid since a couple hills I climbed were I little tight and didn't want any trail damage. But it was dry and the truck never really slipped.

Anybody know of any spots to camp on a Lake in North Ga? Wanting to camp close to the lake so we can kayak but truck camping.

My buddy said Lake Blueridge but I know of nothing that way

There's Lake Nottely, just north of Blairsville. I don't know of any primitive camping near the lake, but there are campgrounds right on the lake.

    Not in the "official" campgrounds.

Of course, as long you don't get out of control, no one will know...

Morganton Point is an "official" camp ground.

Several places out Old Dial, Wilscot Cemetary Rd, Antioch Cemetary Rd, that general vicinity. You'll really just have to look around and see what's available. Most of them are just random spots off the road.

If you haven't already decided on a location, then check out Moccasin Creek campground, which is located on the shores of Lake Burton. There is also a restaurant near by called LaPrades that might be worth checking out. I've tent camped at Moccasin Creek before. It's been about 10 years ago, but it was a nice little campground. I've never eaten at LaPrades so I can't say much one way or another. Have fun!

I camped at Moccasin Creek as a kid. To a kid, it was nice but that was a long time ago. Glad you mentioned it. Now I want to go back up there and check it out!
