Replaced stock radio with a Pioneer AVH series head unit. Focal component system w/a 10" sub powered by 2 Alpine amps. Weathertech floor mats. Line-X'd the bed. SCS Ray 10’s, Installed an A.R.E. You can't go wrong with the headers from LC engineering on the 4 bangers. I've heard nothing but good things.

So I think the only problem I'm going to come across is at the cats. If I purchase a universal cat from Magnaflow and have them put the right flange on to match the y-pipe I should be good to go!

Just got off the phone with Jensai from Toyota parts dept.he said what he has heard from other customers on these headers is the that they're changing the flanges or purchasing cats that would correspond to the 98 models and presto! Done deal.:D

hmmm...if it were me, I'd stick with the ARB plan then. The headers are great but they are best when used with the supercharger, otherwise it's just an expensive way to make your truck sound better. The ARB locker is by far a much more practical mod that you'll get way more out of using.

But...these suckers you just can't get anymore.you could go with the Doug Thorley headers later on but most likely you may not see these for awhile and most likely not from Toyota

Yes there are two different sets. Really it's just the y pipe - after some intense research last night here are the differences

This is the old style that I have before TRD changed them for leaking purposes and 01-04 models
    image.jpg
Notice the y pipe design and the original TRD copper gaskets
    image.jpg

Now here's the changed design, the pieces for the manifolds are the same with the same part #s, however notice the y pipe again. And no they didn't come in black this is like a ceramic paint.
    image.jpg

This is the part # for the new y pipe design if anyone has the old design and wants to do it right
    ptr108999018
    http://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~PTR10-89990-18.html

And this is the part # for the spring bolts and gaskets that help correct any leak issues, which was the main part in the design change.
    ptr2635953
    http://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~trd~3~4~hdr~gsktrtro~ptr26-35953.html

Just good info to keep in mind and glad I could clear things up.

Just called. She said that it was discontinued :(. But, I'll do whatever I've got to do to make it work. Thank you for searching all that stuff. I'm sure the gaskets and flanges I can order and that's all I'll need to make it work

    @TashcomerTexas
The flanges on the y-pipe going to the cats are different from earlier headers compared to the 2001-2004 ones correct? Two bolts on the old vs three on the new.

Correct they are different, and you can see that on the different y pipes. Just because it's discontinued doesn't mean they won't sell it otherwise these sites would have them taken off. You can google the part #s I left and there are various Toyota sites that have them and there's cheaper prices, those were just the first links I saw.
