    Remember...you're not required to use Toyota Financial Services. Shop it! The RV, Money Factor, and Term are set by the financing company. In my experience, TFS has the best rates and terms. But don't be afraid to ask for better.

    TFS gave me a great trade-in value, and a great purchase price (called "capitalized cost" I think?), but offered me the sub-prime money factor. I knew my credit score was over 700, so I just asked where that number was. It doesn't appear on the Vehicle Lease Agreement (white color paper). It was on a separate pink document from the dealer that said Factor: ".0026" I had no idea what that means...so I asked. They lowered it to .0014.

    I'm not a finance guy, but Google tells me that you multiply the MF by 2400 to get the conversion to interest rate. Or, divide the current interest rate by 2400 to get the MF. Why 2400? Who knows?!! Anyway, the MF on the initial offer translated to an interest rate of 6.24%, which was higher than my credit score should have gotten. TFS reduced it just for the asking...no hassle. I recommend TFS because it seems easier. But you can shop.

    Great share, Thx!

    I most likely plan to purchase my Pro regardless with equity, its arriving later this mth (fingers crossed.) I also recall RV's being much lower in the earlier mths of a production year and scaled higher with some manuf, TFS may not have an adjusted RV over time on the Tacoma. I was slightly shocked the RV was as low on the 016 as it was when I test drove it, it was an 016 they were also heavily discounting for me so I made the connection the high residual was an EOY RV to move product. I'll confirm the Pro RV later this mth when I go in to take delivery/purchase.

    The only new vehicles that seem reasonably priced these days are sedans/hatchbacks and certain coupes; probably because sedan demand is in the toilet. You can get a midsize family sedan loaded to the gills with luxury features for ~$25k, but those same features will cost you ~$40k+ in a crossover or pickup, ~$50k+ in a body-on-frame SUV.

    Also, minivans are one of the best values these days, because they sell for ~$5k less than the equivalent crossover (see Highlander XLE AWD vs Sienna XLE AWD). Crossovers are just minivans with less practical rear doors and less cargo space, but people have irrationally decided they are cool and minivans aren't. Like anyone sees a 3-row crossover and thinks "Oh, that must belong to a hip young childless person"; they have the same "soccer mom" stigma as minivans, just with the added "I'm too vain to buy the proper vehicle for my lifestyle" stigma.

    I did an internship at the GM plant where they made the Astro/Safari in 1999 (Baltimore Assembly). You do not want an Astro, trust me.

    The pro exhaust sounds like it removes the graininess in the exhaust note and makes it smooth with a lower tone. The pro actually sounds a good bit quieter...

    weird, the TRD exhaust sounds like my stock did. Glad I went with
    the CAI instead - the sound is spot on.
