Holy F*** Sandwich!!! You already spent over 4 weeks without your truck? And now it does this AGAIN? Also I've heard rear differentials are now on back order because Toyota has been ordering and replacing so many (other speculation is that they've finally figured out they have a problem here and they're working to get it resolved so waiting for new differentials to come in from manufacturer). Time to consider deleting all of your posts here and hiring a lemon law attorney.

Did you take any photos of the mess or damage? Please share if you have some.

Wow that sucks to hear, sounds like you might want to check into the lemon law.

Not any vibration that I can notice.
    My VIN says Baja Mexico.

I might call the dealership and have them tow my truck. Not safe for me or the truck to drive it in this condition.

I'd immediately be on the phone with Toyota Roadside assistance. They need to tow your vehicle to dealer of choice. As soon as I got off the phone call with them, I'd be on the phone with Toyota Corporate letting them know about the situation as well as your past history with these issues. Letting them know how long you were without a vehicle before and requesting they give you the utmost care & priority in resolving your situation ASAP. Third and final step would be to do research on a reputable Lemon Law Attorney in your area, and then call them to explain the situation.

when they extended your warranty, did you sign anything? The manufacturer usually has you sign something giving up future rights when making you this offer.

Truck broke down driving along the freeway to my home, and the engine cut off!!! I nearly avoided colliding with another car. I restarted and pulled over to the buffer lane. Called Toyota road side assistance to get me towed. I can feel a resistance if I try to move it. :(

Wow, just glad you're ok. I really hope they get this figured out soon. So sorry to hear how much trouble you're having.

That sucks. Best to of had it towed anyway. It's not safe driving like that. Screw it of the rear end blows out but your or anyone else's life isn't replaceable. Keep us posted on what's going on. I would recommend you speak directly with the service manager. Also I would call Toyotas 800 number and file a complaint. You already were without your truck for almost a full month and more than likely this time it'll probably be about the same time frame. I'd honestly be trying to fight for a buy back at this point. Just let them know your extremely unsatisfied and you just want the truck fixed and it repaired properly. I hope they take care of you! At the minimum I would want a free extended warranty at the very least

Problem with buy back, you lose a bunch of money. The only way to come out losing the least is Lemon law process which can take several months to go through. If Toyota was really taking care of her they'd pay off her loan and offer her a brand new truck free of charge just to cover all of the damages, anxiety and lost time but we know they won't go that far.

You're going to hit the 30 day in a couple of days. It's gonna be time to start the lemon law process soon.

Not always. I don't mean dealer buying it back as in the sense that your trading it in. I mean Toyota buying it back, basically as a lemon type of situation. A lot of times they will good will gesture certain troublesome issues. I'm not exactly sure how Toyota is but other manufactures sometimes do this. The customers don't really lose there ass basically they are granted an exchange. Depending on mileage and stuff of course.

Could work out in her interest. I wouldn't rule any options out that's for sure. Escalate the pressure as needed.

When you say broke down what were the symptoms?

Engine just died completely no warning whatsoever?

This sounds like the worst 3rd gen experience by far....you need a new truck.

Wonder if it was like some other owners and have the CPS fail on top of the rear end issue.

Good luck with that leaky diff. I have gone the lemon route before with Mazda. You are welcome to PM me directly to learn about that experience. Have you spoken with Toyota HQ? Get a case open with them if you have not already. You will have to involve them anyway if you are considering the lemon law. I hope it does not go that far though.
