I have replaced the bulbs and now the plug twice. One of the two prongs on the bulb keeps getting discolored and the plastic around it and plug melt a little leaving a bad connection. Keeps happening on only that side. I can get in there and wiggle the connection a little and it works for a short time them goes back out. I'm using 42 watt yellow bulbs. Drivers side is fine. Any ideas. I assume it's a short of some kind. Just trying to avoid running new wires from the fuse panel.

My guess is oxidized wire somewhere along the wire. So your thoughts of replacing wire is a solution.

I was afraid of that. I'll have to trace those wires all through time the looms and crap

The passenger side goes around the whole engine bay in a u-turn, passenger side fender, firewall then to fuse & relay box. I'd just add another new wire from the driver's side and cross it under the radiator top brace. The ground wire for that fog lamp is just behind the headlight on a bolt to the fender.

Thanks man. I'll look into this. Is there any concern running both bulbs from essentially the same cable? I know running higher wattage bulbs in OEM wires isn't a great idea.

Well..that's an opinion with many variables. Most are using tables meant for AC current and lengths inside a house or a tractor trailer. For your case it's the width of the Taco plus a foot or so. The return path is nearest bolt to frame/chassis.
