I'm getting an amazing price on some rims. Gonna try this out. You think it will work with 285/50/20 tires?

Specs in the signature. Let me add that mine came new from the dealer this way and I got a very good deal. The look isn't too bad. No rubbing but had to remove the airdam. These tires are way expensive, something on the neighborhood of near $400 per tire (not including the rim) if you have to replace one. The ride is fine. I would recommend a 2 inch block in the back. 3 in the front and 1 in the back will make it feel like you are going uphill all the time.

Why would anyone put 20" rims on a 4x4 pickup truck?? Just curious.......

Where did you find that tool? That is pretty sweet. I put -12 offset 17 inch wheels with 265/70 tires on my gen 3 and the damn thing rubs at full lock on the Cab Mount.

Thank you. If only the bastard "tire pro" at the local shop used this before selling me the wrong wheels i'd be in a better position. cheers.

I'm right there with ya, 17" with -12 offset. I like them now that I'm lifted but it was a pain at first. Cab Mount Chop is an easy mod to have done to alleviate the rubbing. I had a local fab guy cut and weld in a new piece but there are shops like BAMF selling the plates pre cut now (idk about for the 3rd gens, but they might be out there already)

:threadjacked: Did you lift higher than 3"? I've got the 6112's in the front and on the 4th notch out of 5 and they rub at full lock. Going to have them adjust it to the 5th and hopefully clear a little better, otherwise i'm having my fab friends chop into it.

Yeah. I'm 2wd so with spindles and coilovers idk how much lift I have anymore. maybe 5" haha. Also running 295/70-17. I'm not sure on the 3rd gens what setting to go with, but a little higher if possible will give you a bit better clearance. The cab mount chop is still a good idea either way

My thought exactly when I bought it. There is a dealer near here who is putting 20"'s on most of his 2016 tacos. I had a 2012 DCSB OR that had 60K miles on it that was paid off. Btw, I had just had it in the shop for a $1,200 repair of the secondary air bla, bla, bla. The dealer had a 2016 DCSB SR5 loaded but it had a 3" ProComp Nitro lift and the 20 inch rims with BFG TA/KO2 tires with a window sticker of $38,000. I asked him what kind of deal we could make with a trade. They gave me the 2016 for $12,500 difference out the door including tax, title, everything. Oh, and he ran the balance for 48 months at 1.7%. That's 20 bucks a month interest. That's $25,500 for a truck with 60K miles on it. I can pull off the rims and tires and do the lift right for less than starting from scratch. Plus, I really like the truck and I can sell the tires and rims for a bit. Being a teacher, it might take me a bit to get it fixed up but, heck, who knows, I may go malling.:bananadance:

Wouldn't it be great if we all drove the same truck with the exact same lift, tires, wheels and mods? We would all be so cool!
I get so tired of all the assholes giving guys shit because they have a diff drop lift. Who gives a shit what people do to their trucks! Calling us Bros so they can sound cool. Yah yah we get it you're a "hard core wheeler" with your 35s stuffed under a 2 inch lift. I want to put out a challenge to any of the retards who have called someone a "bro" or "mall crawler" to actually show some pics of you wheeling your truck.
People come to this site for help not to be criticized for their choice of truck or mods. Reminds me of high school.

I couldnt agree with this more, different strokes for different folk. Ive had trucks with big wheels little tires, little wheels big tires and everything in between. It all boils down to what YOU want to make the truck. I am sure some wheel these trucks pretty hard but if I wanted to hardcore wheel in a brand new 40k dollar vehicle it would have been a rubicon. Instead im going to use the truck to hunt and fish and I want to wheel hard ill go spend 10k and build an older wrangler to beat on. In all honestly if I knew I wanted to regear right off the bat I would have already went with a diff drop lift and some billet 22x14s but I just dont want to bite the bullet and chop a truck up with 5k miles.
