I have been debating on whether or not I should get a mid-travel suspension. I do light to moderate off-roading on dirt/rocky roads with whoops, trails, dunes, rocks, (not hard, just to have fun and or have my car take me places) and would like to go to deserts. I drive a lot off road on the snow (when i go to the mountains), gravel roads, and through grass and plains.

My plan is to get fox shocks, since they are rebuild-able and re-valve-able (2.5 factory series remote resis in all 4 corners 0-3" of lift for the front and 2-3" in the back), with a new UCA and leaf pack (Dakar OME or All Pro), and new bump stops. What do you guys think overall? AAL or not?

I do have some questions also. Because I go through all sorts of terrain, snow and salted roads at least 5 times a winter, and dusty gravel roads constantly at my family's farm, and sand, I am wondering if ball joint UCA's (the ones from Camburg) are better than a uniball (i don't like squeaking either...lol). I hear that they provide ALMOST the same amount of travel, but can they withstand going 35-40mph over rocks and whoops? Also, are new spindles necessary? I am not planning on jumping this car really, if I do, most I'll go is like a few inches off the ground. Most of what I would do is under 40mph wherever I am off road.

Lastly, is it worth it? Personally, because they the shocks can be rebuilt and re-valved and will last 4-5 years already, I think it is. What do you guys think the cost-benefit ratio is here?

I have the camburg balljoint UCA's. They are built pretty sturdy and haven't had an issue in over a year since they were installed. I also went with them due to wanting a sealed joint.

Sorry for the late response, I never got these notifications... anyhow, thats good to hear. Any squeaks coming from them? I heard that they still squeak a little, though they are not uniball.
No actually I have yet to see that thread. Thanks for the info!! Yeah I thought about limit straps but thought again thinking to myself, do I reeaaalllyyyy need those?

Yeah my budget is 2.5-3k. I am not planning on LCA's though those look beefy.

Adding these parts will add value to your truck for about 1% of potential buyers, and decrease the value for athe least 50% of them. So do what you want but don't count on increased resale as a result

OP thinks it will improve the value of his truck, thus that response - which is spot on.

Be aware if you use coilovers in places that have winters they will corrode and seize up. You will be replacing the lower bearings every year depending on use. You have to either lube the shit out of them constantly or find a way to keep them clean. I'm currently dealing with seized adjustment collars and set screws on my icon 2.5s
