TSB didn't seem to have any effect on my truck. After a long road trip, i seemed to have better throttle response the following week. Just today it seems to have gone back to being a dog. I may take it to another dealer and see if the TSB was actually done. If not they may have to buy this thing back. My wife even noticed it this afternoon when we were barely moving through and intersection.

Is there any relation at all to build dates for those who are seeing their transmissions act up? Mine has a build date of June 16 and only has around 300 miles so I have no input at this point other than it definitely doesn't compare to the 2015 tundra I traded in. Not apples to apples I know. Just makes it more noticeable I guess. My wife's 2007 trailblazer seems way smoother than my new taco.

Got mines done today. Like everyone says, better throttle response, smoother shifting and less gear hunt. Like it so far, hope stays this way lol.

Yes, have the same crappy acceleration. I'm going in for another round with the dealer. I had a case opened and insisted they not close it until all of the issues were fixed.

I just had the tsb done along with my 10k service. The difference in mine was huge. Definitely more power at the lower end of the gears. Acceleration improved immensely. Maybe mine was worse to begin with? I hope it stays this way. Im kind of excited to drive it to work tomorrow.

After 3 tanks of gas my mpg went up a little. Shifting is still good.

    Pre TSB 17.8 mpg
    After 19.2 mpg

This could be true...mine had a manufacturing date of 7/16....I had two different two different dealers check and both tell me it was fine....one did scanning method and one did manual method......but after the manual method with adding ½qt and draining out ½qt, it runs very good and very smooth transitions and no cruise control hunting for gears after flash fix...Happy now.

Had tsb done yesterday. 25 miles to dealer, 25 miles back. Mileage seemed a little better in that short distance, but it really seemed to have more pep and shift more smooth. Will drive more this weekend. I did lots to my truck so I can only expect so much, I guess. 20160612_093427.jpg

Just got home from my TSB update and WOW!! This feels like the truck I wanted to buy and not lunging, dragging ass and not shifting correctly..hopefully it lasts. Service tech said he couldn't replicate but intake tech made him do it..love HER for that! Couldn't replicate whining noise in cab but I can turn the radio up..can't win em all!

Do you remember who your service advisor was here? I just dropped mine off at Mountain States yesterday in hopes they'll perform the TSB on my truck.

When I took my truck in for the 5,000 check up, I complained about the trans, was told. it was "normal" . Last Friday, I opened a case with Toyota, the service manage called me back the next day, and asked when I would like to have the TSB done. I have an appointment on Monday at 10:00! He seemed very friendly and very willing to address my concerns. Going above the dealer's head works wonders!!

Had mine done at New Country Toyota in Westport, CT. In and out in 30mins. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE!! Hope it stays this way. Truck should've came this way from the git go and I probably would've fell in love with it sooner.

I made an appointment to have mine done at my local dealer and they didn't give me a hard time. I wish I would've known about it before I drove it off the lot on Monday because I would've made them do it before I left.

My service advisor was Scott Jarrett. I only met him once the work was done. Another person, an assistant maybe, did the intake paperwork (named Tyler... a few tats and gauged ears.) I received no pushback on having the TSB done.

Sweet. Glad they took care of it for you. They said they had several trucks in with the low fluid, so they're checking that as well.

    Cheers

Just had this TSB taken care of about 2 hours ago at Ernie Palmer Toyota in Jacksonville Fl. They were super helpful, listened to my concerns about the shifting issues (Park to Drive, highway, etc). Got the standard service (oil, filter, rotate and balance tires) to the truck and waited a few hours to get things finished up. They showed me the TSB on the truck, and what they did. There were some other TSB's on the 2016 Tacoma as well, but it wasn't transmission related, and no, I don't remember what they were.

The update on the transmission is excellent! After dogging around for 9200 miles, this feels like a totally different truck. I've had to hold back a little when going from a red light, as well as accelerating out of a parking lot since it's not mushy/lagging anymore. The shifting is much more smooth, throttle is more responsive, and in general it is really nice to have the fix. My truck was manufactured in February of 2016. The Park to Drive delay is gone too. I don't feel like I have to hit the ECT button (go fast button) anymore.
