I'll be staying here for school but depends if they keep our current house or not, will determine if I can keep my truck on this side of the sound. I have my dd and not sure I'll be able to keep 2

My truck just isn't comfortable as a dd anymore, plus averaging 15mpg on a 34 mile (round trip) commute sucks. Was filling up at least once a week haha then take into account tires/ware and tear it was worth it to get a new daily

I gotta ask... Did the conversion to LT make it significantly less drive-able on-road? Or what were the handling drawbacks when you made the switch?

What were you getting before going LT. I wouldnt think going LT with same tires and all being THAT much of a difference. Sure you would get more resistance in longer CV length but wouldnt imagine it being that much more noticeable. Tire wear should be the same I would think as ~2500rpm stock and ~2500 with 4.88's is the tire turning the same amount

Wasnt LT that made me want a DD, I've had my car for a year and a half now. But it was a multitude of little things, like the tire noise, ride quality for longer distances (yes I know it's a truck but the rougher ride gets old) mpg's, plus I was putting 15k miles a year on it, averaging 40 miles a day.

LT didn't affect mpg's at all, well not noticeably. Because of my gears and 33's I average about 13.7mpg's per tank. If it's all highway I can get 16mpg. Once I put 35's on I expect it to go up a little bit since my friend on 33's put 4.56 gears in and gained 1-1.5mpg's

Also got a really good deal on my car so I couldn't pass it up

Damn im surprised how you get so low on mpg. I only noticed a 1-2mpg loss going to 285's with stock gearing.

And damn 15k a year. i put like 5k a year on the truck and 5k a year on my commuter lol

Did the LT affect ride quality? Lots of things affect ride quality; spring rate, damping, sway bars, suspension type. If you kept all things the same, would changing to LT make a big difference in ride quality?

Well combine that with a 1/4" steel rear plate bumper, front bumper, full skids with a 1/4" steel ifs skid, sliders etc.. I got all that before 285's. I was at about 17mpg on 265's then around 15.5 on 285's with stock gears. Now add in my high ass RPM's and it brings it down to about 13.7-14mpg per tank.

Ride is actually better with LT on the road (phenomenal off road) than before but that's probably due to spring rate. I had my MT coil overs cranked up so high just to retain lift with 600 lb coils. Now with 700's I don't notice any body roll at all and I can absolutely fly up that nasty fs road to moon rocks. Perfect tuning.

I drive it more than he does right now.. He works too much. But as long as we keep our current house the tow pig will stay with me :)

If my parents keep our house (buy a cheaper "temp" house there) then I'll live at home to take care of the house and basically have it to myself. I'll commute to school then. But they might go for an expensive one and sell our current one. So not sure yet.
