Does anyone have definitive part numbers for the two starter bolts? I went up to the dealership and am fairly confident that those clowns ordered the wrong parts, but I will find out tomorrow for sure when I go to pick them up. I've looked at diagrams online and think I found the right numbers but there are so many different numbers and diagrams for the same truck it makes me unsure.

Truck is a 95 3.4, 5 speed manual. One bolt is short and the other is longer so there will be two different part numbers.

That's the same diagram that I found to be correct, and I believe that the dealer ordered the numbers you circled. But, I am 100% sure that they are incorrect. Those are the screws that secure that housing assembly together. I gathered that the ones i need are in the bottom right of the diagram (the number in parentheses 90080-10207 and the third number 90105-10221). I just wanted to see if I could get confirmation from another source.

Looks like these are the bolts that secure the housing together. Or am I not understanding?

For whatever reason the fsm skips the starter. Goes battery, alternator, then harness. No mention of the starter or mounting bolts. Wierd.

Yea, the FSM pretty much sucks lol

See my attached pics. Those long bolts I circled in red do hold together the motor part of the housing. The part numbers you circled that I said were wrong are the blue circles and the yellows are the bolts I need. You can see why I am having problems finding what is what, the diagrams are a joke lol

Gotcha, I see what your saying now. I'd have to agree with you, what the dealer ordered is probably those screws and not the bolts for the starter to the bell housing.

You need to train your parts people with some it can take years and quite a few dozen doughnuts !!

    Well worth it though .

It is a shame I just replaced a starter and just pulled new bolts out of the bin if I knew the length I would be glad to tell you

They are M10x1.25 just get a few different lengths

Measure the thickness of the bell housing the depth of the holes in the starter should get you close

Someplace in town should have JIS bolts I would hope

They are 65mm and 115mm long and no one has the longer one, not even fastenal. I've looked at the boltdepot.com and McMaster-Carr and neither have them. Kinda hard to believe

And in the key to the lower left you can see which is for the auto or manual tranny.

Well they were 1 for 2 on the parts they ordered. They got the longer bolt right (which was a match with the part number I thought to be correct), but the other part was the "screw" that I circled above in blue. I had them order the part from the number I supplied and they said it will be here tomorrow so we will see if I will be right again.

Hey Todd were you ever able to figure where to find replacements for these? I'm currently in the same boat you were.
