Howdy! Decent morning by most standards. At least it isn't raining (yet) Gonna drive up to the farm this weekend. The farmer who leases the ground is going to start doing preliminary estimates on soybean yields. They should be a bin buster this year with the rain we've been getting.

Other than that, not much going on this weekend. And I aim to keep it that way! Time for some rest!

The group I do go off roading with is all younger than me.....I'm the old guy. That said, they aren't high schoolers. Most are late 30's to early 50's. One guy is 56. All the "young guys" are professionals, good jobs, families, homes, and settled down. No drunk and disorderly types. Most are military vets too. That experience has a tendency to teach you how to fly under the radar. Having kids of our own teaches most of us to project a good example for EVERYONE around us.

THAT is my "support group"......My "club"..... Not so sure these kids don't need a role model, just that I'm looking to be one of the crowd and not the chaperone. I get enough of that 6 days a week at work.

THAT said, the group seemed to be a sensible, level headed group. Just not looking to be the designated "scout master" at this point.

We met and started the planning process. There is an election here on the last Sunday in September. That will decide who is on the board and who is club president going forward. One "candidate" has let us know his intention is to immediately fire the existing manager. So...We have all decided to wait it out to see how that day goes. If no change, we're all out the door.
