before i get flamed, yes i've used the search function! :) i'm guessing at this point i've read a good 5-6 hours of forums posts. this is a great forums and has a wealth of info! i've been planning my build for the past 2 weeks but am left with 2 options i can't seem to get clarity on.

so my question. i own a 2013 tacoma DCLB 4x4 trd sport with spings that are starting to go flat in back and stock tires going bald so it's about time to refresh. i don't wheel, but do drive in the desert and in snow. i use my truck to haul dirt bikes, wood, etc but the bed is not loaded 85% of the time. no plans to add bumpers, winches. gas mileage is important so don't want to run 285 tires.

i am sitting right around a 2" rake currently and have stock 4 leaf springs. i'd like to get closer to level or 1" rake and use 265/70/17 AT tires.

    i've narrowed to these options:
    A: OME 885, 5100's all around, wheeler's HD 5 leaf...estimated 2.5" in front, 2" in back
B: OME 885, 5100's all around, dakar leaf pack with one leaf removed...estimated 2.5" in front, 2" in back
C: OME 887, 5100's all around, dakar leaf pack with one leaf removed...estimated 3" in front, 2" in back
D: OME 887, 5100's all around, dakar full leaf pack...estimated 3" in front, 2.75" in back

what do you think will be the best combo to narrow the 2" rake and not look too high with 265/70/17?

    current measurements:
    LF: 19.25"
    RF: 19.75"
    LR: 21.75"
    RR: 21.75"

D would be ideal for your needs! And then get some decent rims with 4.5 backspace and 33-12.5 ... It'll look good hauling that dirt bike too ;)

I'm in the same boat man, I use and abuse my truck daily, I'd like to lift without compromising hauling and pulling and still be able to use my sumosprings. I don't offroad much but do drive dirt road with potholes. Good luck with the decision I'll be tagging along on this one.

I think people over estimate the lift of 885s. Flame me if you want... I got right about 2.5" of lift with 885s on my Access Cab. I had the exact same amount of lift with 5100s set at 1.75" with stock springs. With a DCLB, I'd go with 887 (maybe even 1/4" spacers too) coils and remove the top overload on your Dakars. I think you'll still have a fair amount of rake. I have the full Dakar pack + the AAL and it sits really high - even with at least 500 pounds in the bed of the truck, probably more.
