Cowl cover removal and ditch light harness routing

    -ADS coil overs with RR, and compression adjusters -ADS triple bypass rear shocks -Mcm UCAs -Deaver U402 stage 1 leaf packs -ADS bumps in the rear with Icon U bolt flip striker plates -Relentless Offroad U bolts -Wheeler superbumps in front -SCS 17" Ray 10s -285/75/17 BFG KM2s -Nitro 5.29 gears -Pelfteybilt armor front to back with HC rear bumper. T- case skid cut to fit Spec U exhaust. -RCI diff skid -Avid bed bars with basket holding spare. Poison Spyder 3-way strap. Hi-lift jack,and shovel mounted to basket. - SDHQ ditch light brackets with BD Squadron Pro spots. -BD Squadron Pro wide cornering in F. bumper. -BD S8 30" bar in F. bumper -Smittybilt 10k X20 winch -Factor 55 fairlead, and prolink -Switch pro 9100, with custom machined aluminum switch bezel. -BAMF grille insert -URD short throw shifter -URD Spec U exhaust cut over axle. Exhaust looks like it was fabricated by a blind child. -Suntek carbon XP 18% tint all around -ARB single compressor, mounted on Slee bracket. Lines to front, and rear bumper. -Rear diff breather mod,ran to bed cubby. -Ovtune 1.05 FOB 91 -Sprint-booster -Clutch accumalator delete mod -Hella Sharptone horns -Crown +4” extended brake lines, with modified factory brackets to fit lines. -Hypertech speedo calibrator -Custom pinstripes, and trail rash done by the beautiful AZ desert.
    Bolted on my SDHQ ditch brackets along with a pair of Baja Designs Squadron Pro lights. I'd like to route the light section of the harness under the cowl cover, but I can't get the center section of the cover to release. I see a plastic pin protruding through the sheet metal with hooked clips on either side of it. After several attempts to get the hooks to release I gave up for now. How do I finish removing the cover without damaging it? The cover costs over $400. The outer sections of the cover released easily. My second question is where to pass the switch side of the harness through the firewall? It was already suggested to me to poke a hole through the grommet with the thick harness bundle below the brake reservoir. Not in love with that idea. How are all you guys with ditch lights completing your installs?

    Following, was looking at this the other day. Only reason I havent done the ditch lights is because I dont want a bunch of wires hanging around.

    I ran my wires along the hinge and zip tires them to other wires on the firewall. Can't even tell it's not factory

    This was plan B. However the BD harness isn't long enough to reach between the two lights to run it like this. I may have to cut and splice to make it work. How did you run your wires into the cab?

    Thanks for the pic. I was not successful with removing the cowl cover. I don't know why the two center clips won't release, but I didn't want to push the issue. I ended up routing across the firewall like suggested. I had to cut and splice in a full 2 ft of wire to reach the light connectors. For the switch side of the harness I ran the wire next to the hood release cable where it passes through the large grommet in the above photos. Worked out great.
