i have them and dislike them. it's just extra crap to deal with. when you want to get to the brake caliper or drum, etc it's like having 8 wheels to take off.

If you need the space they get the job done. If you can I wouldn't use them.

Causes more stress on the wheel bearings.

In my opinion, anything that has to do with spacers, blocks, etc. are pretty much just saying "just shove some shit between this shit and there ya go." (said in a redneck accent).

Just seems a little ghetto imho. I'd rather just get rims with more offset.

not worth it. i was in your position too and saw it would be $200 for spacers all around and i got moto metal 951s for 400 all around from discount tire. and im pretty sure i can get 200 for my stock ones so for the same price i have new rims with no hassle

I have them and have had no issues. I will get rid of them someday when i buy wheels but until then they do the trick. Just make sure you torque them to the mfg's specs when you put them on.

Personally, if I wanted to spend the cash I'd run Spidertrax (hub centric). Sports cars run them all the time without problems. I don't get the bashing on this site.

I have the spidertrax spacers and they are great. They make the factory FJ wheels I am using look aggressive and nice with my 285s. Many people run spacers on Bimmers and Audis to get a more aggressive stance as I have I on my previous BMWs and Lexus cars. They work fine if you get hub centric versions.

Hell some AMG mercedes come with spacers from the factory, so if a $100,000 + car has them I think they will suffice on our $20,000 trucks.

i run that exact setup. 285-70-17 on stock wheels with 3 inch lift. I have the 1.25 spidertrax spacers. They work perfectly, they space your tire, and give the truck a nice stance

Rims with more negative offset would 'effectively' be the same as running thin spacers. Think about it, the wheels HAVE to clear the calipers. If you add a 5mm spacer OR you add a wheel with the IDENTICAL clearance you do not increase any forces on the wheel bearing. You do put the lug in double shear, but tons of people have done this for years w/o issue that I'm aware of. I'm 1 year into a 5mm spacer on the fronts to allow the wheel to clear my caliper and I've had no issues what-so-ever. These spacers slide right on and don't bolt up like spider-trax so no extra work when I want to change brake pads, etc...
Do your homework and don't believe everything you read.

There is not a lot of bashing on this site, infact, people are timid to upset eachother here. If you want bashing go join dezertrangers.com

There is nothing wrong with wheelspacers-yes they put more stress on the wheel bearings but not enough to destroy them. They are a pain to put on but they provide clearance and make the truck look badazz.

Front (2.75" total): 1.6" Eibach coils, Toytec 0.5" (L) & 0.25" (R) top plate spacers, 5100's @ 0.85", Built Right uniball UCA's, Differential drop, Removed sway bar Rear: TSB springs, Wheeler's 1.5" AAL, 5100's, 2* shims, Carrier bearing drop, F and R Spidertrax, 285/75-16 Goodyear Duratracs, Self-fabbed sliders, rear bumper, and skid plates, Cobra 75 CB, Bed lined slim lo-pro tool box, Bed Extender, Diff breather mod, Two tail gate security mods, Exhaust dumped behind axle, Can't leave shit alone so plenty more coming...
I have two sets of Spidertrax coming in the mail. My factory rims are plenty pretty (I find beauty in function). I find it hard to get rid of a perfectly good set of rims so that I can put $500-$1000 into new rims. Just don't have that kind of money to throw around. Even if I did, I'm not sure I would. Just not my cup of tea.

I wanted a wider stance because it increases tire clearance and technically makes the truck more difficult to tip over. If it makes it look cooler, which it does IMO, that's an added bonus.

Spidertrax are hubcentric and if installed correctly, will not increase wear any more than changing to rims with an equal amount of offset.
