Nah RTT is the best of both worlds. You got the tent aspect of the ground tent and you got the "up in there air" aspect of the hammock :p

So I have the Autana Sky which barely fits 3 and you have the Ayer. Yea, good luck with that.

Back to the axle relocate plates. Did you use the hole to move it back 3/4" or the hole for 1"? I know I'm splitting hairs here and trial and error will tell me what I need to know, but I want to guess right the first time if I can. Ha ha.

Pretty much stock with some crap welded to it.
the ONLY thing a rtt is good for is pulling some major tang.

Good luck to you then. :p

I'll add something here. Potentially think about having the bolts for the RTT go through the actual bed rack and be hidden. It's one of the few things I worry about since it takes simple hand tools to pull the tent off.

It's really fun building things! I'm happy I took a class and it sure has paid off!

Not just the savings, it has to be a good feeling after you have built it and are using it.

Good thought, but I'll leave it as so. That tent is crazy heavy and takes a long time to unbolt. I don't think I'll be away from it long enough for anything to happen.
